Bio

The band was born in 2003 with the name of Pegatina Sound System, when Ovidi i Adrià met Rubén, who up to this moment was playing alone, and decided to throw forward the project, without knowing where it could grow. One year later, they had more than 20 performances played and were one of the most active groups in the Catalan area. Also they were starting to take part in festivals and performances in different places of Spain. They established the oficial name "La Pegatina", and with more than 150 concerts it raises, they're continuing enjoying and surprising like the first day. In 2006, Ferran joined the band (bass), in 2007 Axel (trumpett) and Romain (accordion). Axel and Romain are french from brittany.
They belong to a generation who has lived through the ascent of the mestizaje in the international panorama and who has grown with the return of the Catalan rumba to the musical youth panorama, the components of the group have been greatly influenced by the environment of Barcelona's Gothic neighborhood: they mix the Spanish, Catalan and the Galician in their songs, in some cases, dare with other languages as English or the French.
La Pegatina is a group with vocation of live concert. A non-pretensious style, focused directly on the public he has ahead. Fundamentally urban group, some of their best representations have been in squares, streets, suburban trains or buses, calling attention on people and making them dance and sing.
What do they play? Urban Rumba! That kind of rumba that make you move so much and ask for more, until you are too tired to walk... They are show-addicts, who play simple but direct music and words which are repeated and shouted by most of the public that sees them. Days after seeing them live, you can discover yourself singing some of their rumbitas... Some of their songs contain protest messages in defense of human rights, respect and agains injustice, war and lie, using normally nearby examples to illustrate these universal values.

Their first CD " Al Carrer! " appeared at 2007's beginning, after an intense working autumn in Sukhà Studio in Hospitalet, where they combined the Cd record at Studio, with last year's performances. " Al Carrer! " consists of 13 songs played in "La Pegatina" pure style, and including a genuine bonus track. The Cd is full of important collaborations: Gambeat (Radio Bemba's bass) gives his help for the whole CD, Leo and Kachafaz (Che Sudaka's members) contribute for "No a la guerra" song, Alguer (Txarangö) at "Penjat", Emma Calafell gives her voice for "Petrolero", and Manu Chao plays the guitar at "O Camareiro" (this song appeared at "A Per Loca" compilation, but they reversioned it).
In a nutshell, "La pegatina" means party, happiness, dancing and fun! .
