la poema is the stage name for folk-rock, singer-songwriter Joey Bures. “There is so much opportunity for good things to happen in this world, and I want to be a part of that,” Bures says. He, his wife and two kids currently reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota, doing what they can to help people. Life is busy, but it always will be, and Bures wants to use the time he has on Earth to see people grow in love, truth and the hope that he has.

The name la poema comes from a Greek word in Eph. 2:10 meaning "a work of art". The verse says" For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." If we put 'work of art' in for workmanship, it illuminates God's artistic nature in modern day English and show's us how we are to be beautiful both in how we are made and in what we are doing. We want to encourage people to do good things and make beauty come from who they are and who they are made to be.
