La Puma was formed in Stockholm in 2002 with the ambition to have fun and play mind blowing rock. During the past years they have successfully established their name on the Swedish rock scene and made La Puma known by their energetic live performances, strong songs and a charismatic lead singer with a powerful voice.
The La Puma sound is influenced by rock from the 70s and 80s such as Ramones, The Pretenders, Blondie, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, but also even more modern tones like Queens of the Stonage, PJ Harvey, The Gossip and the Strokes.
In January 2008 the band recorded their debut album with the own guitarist Torbjörn Gjers and Knut Shreiner (Turbo Negro) as producers. The first single will be released in March and the final album will be out in May 2008. La Puma is better than prozac and, most importantly, an essential part of the future of Swedish rock.
