"My SXSW, by Melissa Auf der Maur"

[...] I went to see Radio Radio on their showcase, yet another inspired and out-there French Canadian band to potentially cross over into the “Anglo” (in Montreal, which is part of French Canada, we are either “Anglos” or “Francos”). Radio Radio is a band emerging out of a great Franco music label and organization, led by a true Frenchman, named Gourmet. They rap in French over Fever Ray samples, and the people pogoed. Made me excited for Montreal... - Time Out NY

"The Rocker Olympics"

… A fine antidote: Radio Radio (laradioradio.com), the Great White North's answer to the Beastie Boys, which means they were spry and, above all, melodic. They could also do an irresistible song about Kenny G. (I kid you not). - Sound and Vision Magazine

"Radio Radio: “Guess What?”"

When you think of hip-hop, you generally don’t think of Canada, but the Canadian trio Radio Radio is trying to change that perception. The critically-acclaimed group has criss-crossed their native country for the past three years, bringing their brand of hard-charging, danceable rap to sold-out audiences. Radio Radio’s new album, Belmundo Regal, could certainly make a splash with Americans; even though the lyrics are occasionally in French, the music is full of funk, electronic, and pop influences that have an undeniably universal appeal. Take a listen to “Guess What?” below:

Today’s song of the day is “Guess What?,” by Radio Radio. - Texas Music Matters

"Voir"

« Véritable vent de fraîcheur sur la scène hip-hop d’ici, le combo doit
beaucoup à son interprétation, mélange d’anglais, de français et de vieux français livré non sans un accent fort sympathique. [...] Grâce à son irrévérence et son authenticité, Radio Radio nous fait sourire. On hoche la tête et on rêve de Moncton. Faut le faire.»
Olivier Robillard Laveaux, mai 2008, Voir

"The Gazette"

« White boy raps and chunky electro beats get reinvented with awesome results at the hands of Acadian four-man fly-boy crew Radio Radio. Franglais rhymes about everyday lunacy [...] combine with big-bass synth-funk grooves for super-freaky styles that will have you vigorously bobbing your head as you bust a move, and bust a gut at the hilarity that ensues. [...] Whichever way you cut it,
this is fresh. 4,5/5 »
T’Cha Dunlevy, May 2008, The Gazette - The Gazette

Radio Radio are Montreal based hip hop trio from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia who rap in Acadian French. They’ve recently launched their second full length album, “Belmundo Regal” (Bonsound Records) which has been getting rave reviews and creating quite a buzz.

After releasing their first EP entitled Télé-Télé in 2007, Radio Radio released their first full length album Cliché Hot on Bonsound Records (April 2008). They received a nomination in the “Revelation of the year” (Révélation de l’année) category, at the Félix Award gala, where they also performed. The single "Jacuzzi" gave the band great exposure when it was used for a Telus commercial.

In 2010, Radio Radio released a third album, "Belmundo Regal" on Bonsound Records (March 4th) which is on the short list for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize.
