"Online Fan Reviews"

"...Larissa's music is on the soundtrack from your favorite movie they didn't make yet—either that, or the next big WB show..."

"..."All This Empty Sky" is a great song...beautifully haunting..."

"Evocative and beautiful. The lyrics and the music are both amazing independently, and put together they are more than the sum of their parts. Jaye brings back the strong emotions of the day in a respectful, yet haunting way. It's a beautiful song and I can't wait to hear more from her. I think the album will definitely be a "tell your friends" sort of thing!"

"Larissa, just wanted to tell you I've had a number of your songs in my head for the last few days—I catch myself singing them on the street."

"..."All This Empty Sky"—my wife says she hates it, because it makes her hurt. Therefore, it is a good song."

"Larissa is everyone's lovable nutcase who happens to make great music!"

"Your writing ability is in another world...your talent is truly extraordinary..." - ================

Bio

NYC-based singer-songwriter Larissa Jaye is a mistress of lyric-driven pop-folk who is often compared to the likes of Kate Bush and Dar Williams, but with an edge undoubtedly sharpened by formative years full of Cyndi Lauper, Blondie and Pat Benetar. A born-and-bred Jersey girl described as "poetic and poignant" (buddyhollywood.com), Larissa is an independent singer-songwriter who walks a tightrope between the classic and the progressive: fearlessly expressing her insights on personal experiences, universal themes, history and pop culture, she uses passion, sensitivity and wit to claim the middle ground between Joni Mitchell and Michelle Branch.

Since teaming up with producer Jonathan Perkins (Jason Nevins, The Orange Factory, Nate Walker) and engineers Scott Jacoby (John Legend, Jess Klein, Naturally 7) and Peter Doris (Cyndi Lauper, Elvis Costello, Chantal Kreviazuk), Larissa has been immersed in production of her first full-length album, New Leaves Over, due out in 2009 on her own fledgling label, Rella Records.

Coming from an acoustic beginning, Larissa's goal for this project is to maintain her lyrical folk sensibilities while opening up her sound to a larger mainstream pop-rock audience. With the support of her production team, as well as over a dozen additional musicians, the album's 13 tracks have grown to integrate elements of pop, rock, folk, jazz and electronica, making this long-awaited record everything from intimate to epic -- and nothing short of an adventurous labor of love that promises to make its mark.

Larissa is a member of ASCAP and the National Academy of Popular Music (NAPM), a Performing Member of Indiegrrl, an Elite member of GoGirlsMusic, and is published through Baby Rellaphant Music (ASCAP). Larissa is also a two-time recipient of the ASCAPLUS Award, a prize which is presented annually by ASCAP to a select group of promising writers in the early stages of their careers, and her song "Souvenirs You Never Bought" was recently chosen from over 14,000 entries to advance to Round Two of the 2006 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in both the Folk/Singer-Songwriter and AAA categories. Performances include B.B. King's in L.A., the National Folk Alliance Conference in Austin, and CBGB's Lounge, Chick Singer Night, The Bitter End, Mexicali Blues and more in and around NYC.
