BIO
Larry Green was born into a large, loving family in the small town of Ferriday, Louisiana. It was clear from an early age that music would play a central role in the life of this bright, energetic young man. His mother, the late Mrs. Lula Webb Anderson recognized her son's musical gift and wanted to give him piano lessons. However, she could not afford to provide them as a single mom working as a nurse's aid. Larry, just as many R&B singers growing up in the 60's cut his musical teeth in the church. It was at the St Mark Baptist Church of Clayton, La that Larry developed his voice and his spiritual grounding. Many a Sunday morning found him belting out a soul-stirring gospel tune as the church rocked to the rhythm of Sunday shoes striking the hardwood floor. For all occasions from church programs to school talent shows this young ham was always ready to"step to the mike."

After high school, Larry attended Northeast Louisiana University later named University of Louisiana. Although he majored in Pharmacy, he continued to nurture his artistic passion while an undergraduate. During this time, he directed and traveled with the university's 50-voice gospel choir. Working with bright, young minds at the university provided exposure to music theory and the intellectual as well as the business side of music. It was while arranging music for the NLU Interdenominational Ensemble that Larry developed his style of blending rich, gospel harmonies with funky, progressive rhythms.

After completing his degree, Larry served in the Armed Forces and traveled and worked overseas. He and long-time friend, bassist Barry Robinson co-founded the Italian-American cover band CHILL while they were stationed in Italy. The band enjoyed tremendous success until Larry was called to serve in the first Gulf War. While in Italy he studied voice and classical music. It was probably during this time that he became broader with respect to his artistic vision and at the same time more focused upon the purpose of his life.
