"Comic is Native, Edgy, and Funny!"

Larry Omaha is a well-kept secret in the world of comedy, but, one that is finally being exposed. In an age of screaming, angry jokesters, its refreshing to laugh at the clever twists and turns Larry delivers about his culturally different upbringing. His psychic uncle, his grandmother's quack cures, and Eskimo gangs are fresh comedy territory and hilarious. - Los Angeles Times

"Skirting Issues Not An Option for Larry Omaha"

There's nothing funny about racism, bigotry or sexism -- unless, of course, you're sitting in the audience at one of Larry Omaha's shows.

The comedian has made it his business to "show the ridiculousness of stereotypes" while still finding the humor in them during his stand-up act, which he performs through Sunday at The Improv at Harrah's.

"I try to do it in a way that's not heavy," Omaha, whose heritage is a blend of Zapotec Indian and Yaqui Indian, explained during a recent call from Los Angeles.

"Right up front" he tackles the issue of his own "multicultural look," because "I know (audiences) are thinking about it."

During shows, Omaha breaks down his lineage -- he claims his great-great-grandfather was the son of a Mexican revolutionary, and his great-great-grandmother the daughter of an Indian chief -- and explains: "Because of that amalgamation of cultures, I stand here tonight looking like Jackie Chan. - Las Vegas Sun

Bio

Larry is the voice of Nightwolf in Mortal Kombat 9 and recently appeared on: Comedy Centrals Standup Revolution hosted by Gabriel Iglesias; Showtime Comedy Special Goin Native; Comics Unleashed; ABCs No Ordinary Family; and HBO/Cinemax Erotic Traveler.

Born on the banks of the Missouri river, Native American comedian Larry Omahas childhood was spent fighting flood waters, snakes, and coyotes on the Midwestern plains. The rest of his days were spent battling his 20 siblings and cousins for space and food in a two bedroom house built by his uncle.

As a youngster Larry had numerous encounters with the law. He knew he was headed down the wrong path and straightened up enough to receive a scholarship to law school. Bored by legalese he quit school and took a job with the government. Bored by bureaucracy he quit and made a bee-line to Los Angeles to pursue his childhood dream standup comedy. He knew the memories of his youth were destined for the stand-up stage.

The Yaqui Zapotec comedian will have you howling as he turns Indigenous stereotypes upside down and inside out.

Its been reported that a recent audience of rowdy settlers were so impressed by Larry's act they willingly returned land their ancestors had stolen.

Larry's insightful view on multi-ethnic America has placed him in great demand on the college, casino, and corporate circuit. His comical stories about his youth are hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "Refreshing , funny and universal." His side-splitting jabs at the hypocrisy of American society inspired the Las Vegas Sun to label him, "A very hip comic who clicks with all generations."
