Delaney & Saenz

Larry's originals are hard charging rockers to soft soulful ballads. There is a hard rock band somewhere in Larry's bone marrow but is often tempered by his love of lush harmonies and soft acoustic. Larry's quirky social songs are anything but politically correct. Larry tells it like he sees it.

Biography

Music Lovers ! Welcome, this is the "Satin Latin", aka Larry Saenz and I have been performing music since the age of 7. At 16 I was already on local radio performing original music. Currently, I am working towards becoming a published artist. I had been performing with my band "Never Too Late", in the Washington D.C. area, but disbanded this effort in Dec. of 2010.

With all the technology available to artists today, we can generate a band sound as a duo, or scale it down for a warm acoustic sound. We will be performing at SAW (Songwriters of Washington DC) events, clubs, cafes and promoting my original music. Listen to "Bail Me Out" , "Breakaway", and "O Great Spirit".

Steve Delaney, adds spice to my music, providing original guitar textures that rival anything you will hear today. The art of rock guitar is fading away but Steve strives to remind us that great guitar work, will always stand the test of time. Steve's vocal prowess on harmonies and lead vocals also adds depth to our overall sound.

Let us know what you think. Most of all, we want our music to make the audience "feel" something. To give you a positive message or a good story. Life is short, do what you love and love what you do. Wishing everyone a safe and purposeful ride in the short time we have on planet earth. PEACE - LOVE ALWAYS.

I Lose Myself In You

Written By: Jason Saenz

I Lose Myself in You- Words and Music Jason Saenz copyright 2005

See the clock on the wall
Millions like it my friend
But this one starts in the middle
Moves away from the end

Thinning wasted I have faded
Running down these stairs
My heart’s here for the taking
For the one who cares

I lose myself in you
Is there nothing I can do
After all the pain that I’ve been through
I lose, I lose myself in you

Memories come and go
Running up my mind
like the songs on the radio
short increments of time

Can I stop my dreams from drowning
Can I stop the endless sea
My hearts here for the taking
For the one who’ll set me free

I lose myself in you
Is there nothing I can do
After all the pain that I’ve been through
I lose, I lose myself in you

See the clock on the wall
Millions like it my friend
But this one starts in the middle
Moves away from the end

O Great Spirit

Written By: Larry Saenz Music - Chief Yellow Lark Dakota Lyrics

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.

I am small and weak.I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the
red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.

Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes,so when life fades, as the fading sunset,my spirit will come to you without shame.

Breakaway

Written By: Larry Saenz

Hey what ya doing
Running round and round
got your kid with a sitter
and he’s way up town

What’s the world coming to
When your children ain’t at home
It’s a sad state of affairs
When you leave them all alone

There’s a new day rising
A new sound sizing up
a Breakaway
a new day
for Freedom
Won’t you shine your light on
Them
and
Breakaway

Sunday morning
Daddys gone Mama’s crying the blues
the Baby’s lying he ain’t a crying
But you know he’s hurting too

It’s the season
of no reason
so the children pay the price
for a world of androids
no heart, no heart, no heart no life

Hey what ya doing
Running from place to place
Got your kid with a sitter
and he’s lost in space

What’s the world coming to
When your children ain’t at home
It’s a sad state of affairs
Don’t leave them all alone

There’s a new day rising
A new sound sizing up
a Breakaway
a new day
for Freedom
Won’t you shine your light on....
Them
and
Breakaway

Shine on Them
Breakaway
Shine on Them
Breakaway

What Would I Change

Written By: Larry Saenz

What would I change
If I could do it all again
Would I be more loving
not trying to pretend

Would I give more time
Without looking for any gain
What would I change
If I could do it all again

When the storm is over
And you pick up all the pieces
Will you find something good
Buried in my heart
I see your picture
golden hair soft green eyes
Was I always there?
did I, wear a disguise

It seems so long ago
We just started out
You knew the way
I got lost, in the doubt

When the storm is over
And you pick up all the pieces
Will you find something good
Buried in my heart

Leaves are falling
from the sky
like my memories
floating by
Harvest moon
Is on the plow
storm has past
moving into now
What would I change
If I could do it all again
Would I be more loving
not trying to pretend
