Larry Trub

Larry Trub is a San Antonio native who has been singing and playing guitar and bass professionally since the early 1970s. An accomplished vocalist and guitarist Trub has worked with numerous bands over the years. Larry played bass in the local "Alice in Wonderland" musical production in 1979. Some of the many groups he has performed in are SKY, Frank Rodarte & The Alamo All Stars, Four on the Floor, Sauce & The West Side Horns, Toatlee Bluz, and Austin's Jimi Lee.

Larry has also worked with national acts such as The Coasters, and Las Vegas entertainers when they have worked here and has opened for Albert Collins, BB King, Bobby Blue Bland among others. Larry was named San Antonio’s Best Blues Guitarist in 2001 by Herme’s Music at the local IBF Blues Competition. Larry worked in the 1970's at the Eastwood Club where he met Mike Sanders.

Larry enjoys playing clean pocket leads to slightly overdriven blues lines and tasty rhythm. Primary influences are Texas guitarists Jimmie & Stevie Vaughan, Doug Sahm, Derek O'Brien, Anson Funderburgh, Buddy Whittington.

Larry plays vintage guitars and amps to get the “San Antone” sound he wants.
