[LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – November 19, 2015] – On December 1, 2015 Push Music Group, a Universal Records affiliate, will be releasing brand new music from Houston, Texas native, Laryss. Laryss moved from Texas to Los Angeles to pursue her career and quickly gained the attention of many of the music industries most accomplished executives. Laryss will be releasing a gorgeous remix of the Drake single “Right Hand”, followed shortly after by her first original single, “First Place”. Both videos are directed by Heath Sanders.

An outstanding talent and hard worker, Laryss has quickly made believers and many new fans in L.A.
“I have been blessed to work with Justin Timberlake, Universal and Atlantic Records. I have been around great talent. Do you know that ‘goose bump’ feeling that you get when you hear an amazing artist? I got that feeling the first time I heard Laryss” says Push Music Executive Shawn Campbell. “We are excited to see how the public responds to her first offering!”

"WATCH: LARYSS' COVER OF SELENA'S "I COULD FALL IN LOVE" WILL GIVE YOU SERIOUS CHILLS"

Pop and R&B vocalist LaRyss, has been making musical waves in Los Angeles. She confidently covers the beloved “Queen of Tejano,” Selena Quintanilla’s, “I Could Fall In Love.” Only accompanied by a speaker and her voice, she does the legend justice. At 21-years-old, the songstress’s makeup highlight is as bright as her future. Still on a high from New York Fashion Week, LaRyss talks style, singing, and forthcoming success.

Wow! You covered Selena beautifully. How did your journey begin?

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I’d say I walked out of the womb singing. [Laughs] I never wanted to do anything else. When I was a little girl I always said, “I want to be a singer! I want to be a famous singer.” Now, it’s a dream to be in Hollywood singing for a living. The fame is a totally different ballgame - once you know what it entails. I began pursuing my artist career after high school. If I could not sing, I would be working in fashion. It is my second passion! I was accepted into FIDM, the fashion institute in Los Angeles. To my surprise, my parents supported my musical aspirations. I started recording in the studio heavily. I wasn’t excited to leave music for school. I declined admittance. My mom encouraged me; my father now manages me, instead. Fashion Week was pretty amazing, though!

What’s some of your favorite fashion pieces? Describe your everyday outfit and an ensemble for a night out with your girls.

I do keep up with couture designers. I’m also a huge fan of Balmain! However, you’ll most likely find me wearing half resell thrifts and half Forever 21. [Laughs] It’s funny, I went to an event in LA and they placed my red carpet picture online. They were going crazy over the clutch I was carrying; it was only $3. [Laughs] A night out with girls includes a great contoured face, heels and my leather jacket. I really love shell toe Adidas, too..

Who are your much-loved fashionistas?

Well, music and fashion go hand-in-hand. I adore Demi Lovato. She’s so dope! Clearly, I need Jennifer Lopez, she slays it. All her outfits are classic. Dinah from Fifth Harmony looked incredible for the Latina cover shoot. Becky G always dresses funky and cute. I love my Latinas.

Who are your musical muses?

I’ve been exposed to many genres. Growing up Selena, Shakira, and Christina Aguilera were my three favorite artists. As I got older, I began listening to alternative tunes. I’ve studied Broadway and musical theatre. Right now, I keep up with mainstream artists. I love music that relates closely to mine. My favorites are Bryson Tiller, Kehlani, Demi Lovato and Drake! I’m basically obsessed.

What is next for LaRyss?

I’m releasing my debut album in the spring. The first single “First Place” will be available on iTunes March 1st! All the labels are in LA, so I’m thrilled to be building my brand on my own. Tearing up the streets in NYC has given me pop and R&B inspiration. My music is growing independently. I’m ready to share awesome songs with the world. - Latina Magazine
