PORTRAIT OF LA SABROSA SABROSURA

UNTIL SUMMER 2009

La Sabrosa Sabrosura = The Tasty Tastefulness

In February 2007, La Sabrosa Sabrosura from Mxico launched it's first album named Paposauri with a very different and unique rhythm called Cumbiabomba .

La Sabrosa Sabrosura begin their story from Los Yerberos, a band who was an important band in Mexico's Reggae scene. They where the first and only reggae band signed by a multinational music label, this important label signing was completed by none other than BMG Ariola. Los Yerberos performed throughout the Mexican Republic for ten years and produced a total of four albums between 1992 and 2002.

Every band meets their crossroads, with Los Yerberos being no different, so by 2004 the decision to explore other options was taken, always with the idea of getting back together at another time.

In 2006, Mariano Spindola, guitar placer, made profound efforts to rejoin Los Yerberos to apply the knowledge learned from their life's experiences. This idea doesnt work so the new band was borning:

Mariano Spindola (voice and guitar), Daniela Salas (voice) and Gabo Navarro (voice and guitar) were the leaders of the project of that hopeful beginning.

Their first album was Paposauri (2007)
Paposauri = Mexicam expression used to say the right moment when a fruit is ready to be eaten..

The bass is the traditional cumbia groove (Colombian music style highly rooted in Mexico) merged with Funk, Electronic Music, Reggae and other modern rhythms' that gives the name to the Cumbiabomba style.

During 2007 and 2008, La Sabrosa Sabrosura performed in as many venues as possible, to include; bars, nightclubs, culture houses and private events. Of which the following are some of the most notable:

Autumn Festival in Lagos 2007 (Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco)

International Festival of the Cultures in Resistance, Ollin Khan 200
Opening of the Indianilla Cultural Center

International Festival Transitio 2007

Guapacho Groove Festival Spring and Summer 2008

International Festival of the Cultures in Resistance Ollin Khan 2008

Fifth Latin-American Poets Meeting 2008

Opening of the Project Cicloton Mexico D.F. 2008

By the beginning of 2009, Claudia Mendoza joined the band after Daniela Salas resigned, which turned out to be an excellent timming as the band was preparing their second album.

During the winter of 2008 through to the spring of 2009, the second album La Papaya y El Despapaye was produced.

La Papaya y El Despapaye = Mexican expression that means the fruit and the party, used when the party gets wild.

This summer 2009 La Sabrosa Sabrosura start it's first promotional tour. The overall goal is to capitalize on their past experience and enrich themselves from past results of previous albums in an effort to push the band into International recognition.

The primary members are Mariano Spindola and Gabo Navarro joined by Claudia Mendoza.

The collaboration of the talented Alejandra Garcia (saxophone), Pablo Garcia (saxophone and clarinet) and Gabriel Elias (percussions) is invaluable.

Valeria Moeller (choirs) and the affectionate DJ Macoa, in vocal interventions, (who also acts as the Stage Manager) are part of this unique and new tour.

Baring in mindthe-new-found strengths ingrained into the singer, past produced albums, videos and the overall experience of La Sabrosa Sabrosura it's obvious they are highly prepared to deliver the most lively and entertaining of performances, based around their desire and passion to achieve and provide the greatest entertainment for all audiences, worldwide.
