Bio

Last to Begin was formed in January of 2006 in the southeastern Wisconsin/northeastern part of Illinois. It consisted of two members at the time Joshua "Pik" Bublitz who is from Lake County, IL and Eric Laubinger who is from Lake Geneva, WI area. Both members had previous solo projects and both had played in several other bands before meeting. When they first had heard each other play it just seemed like the one thing they were missing musically in their own projects was each other. So they joined together as a band and began writing songs at a incredible rate. They also began playing open mics all over the Chicago area. Eventually this lead to the need for a full band to play shows and release a demo to get their sound out when they weren't playing out somewhere. So they listed an ad in the Chicago Reader and tried out a few drummers and after a couple of different attempts found somebody that was great to work with and seemed to fit right in with their personalities. Everything started to come together and they met Crittle, their cellist, and finally they had enough of a band to start playing shows. They played their first real show at the Beat Kitchen on August 9th, 2006 and that was their only show because a lot of personal issues that kind of brought the whole band to a halt for awhile until January of 2007. In January Pik and Eric decided it was time to put the band back on the market and do something with it. They acquired Jason Marshall as the bass player and set some goals to have a demo ready by March 1st. Well here it is, the demo is 7 songs covering bits from the entire era of Last To Begin. One of the first songs they wrote "How Many Times" to the one of the latest songs they wrote "January 28th". The direction has changed a little but the sound of the band has stayed pretty true. The goals are to play shows, gain a respective following and get a record deal. If nothing else to put out their hearts and souls to the world and hope that someone listens, relates or enjoys what they have done.
