Feeling a bit camera shy

Panayiotis (Nico) 'Latis' was born in the UK September of 75 & coming from a Greek back-ground, Latis built up his foundation on all types of melodic music ranging from Greek to Jazz & Classical to Film.
He studied, in total 8 years of music (Composition, Vocal training, Studio Technology & Guitar) with some of the best teachers in the UK including Professor Andrew Downes & Fred Thelonious Baker. The Birmingham Conservatoire gave Latis the opportunity to work with Orchestras, record, produce & enter worldwide competitions such as the Eurovision Song Contest & perform his work in & around Europe.

In the millennium, Latis produced & released a CD of all his work as part of a final project & graduated with honors. Shortly after, calls were coming in to travel around the world & produce work of his own for new singers/musicians & much of the time he was sent to Greece to work with some of their top singers. He still to this day sends his material there.

In 2004, Latis arrived in Australia & began to attend Songslive workshops. This is where he met the very naturally talented singer/songwriter Jo Young. Jo’s music caught his attention & he jumped to the chance of producing her first CD Single “Angels in the Mud” which was released in the winter of 2005 & ever since then, Latis & Jo have performed together around Sydney.

Latis’s brother Hambi is a Professional Photographer in Sydney (Lati Photography) & his work in Creativity has helped him in Producing & writing wedding themes as part of a wedding package & creating photo montages along with some atmospheric music. Work from the family always comes in & Latis is happy to try out new things involving production.

In 2005 Latis helped produce an album for Tommy Tsonis (No.1 Australian Bouzouki player) & Australia’s Top Greek Female Vocalist Maria Stavropoulou. The album, named after Latis’s song ‘Den Noiazesai’ (you don’t care) was released on the 24th of November 2005 & is well known in the Greek community all over Australia.

Occasionally, in his spare time, he would enter a song in a competition over the net & he has been honourably been mentioned in a few, including the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. His biggest passion is film music & some examples of his work can be found on this 'myspace' web page.

Since returning from Europe & receiving numerous emails from people within Australia for future work, Latis has finally settled down & working from his home studio in Sydney Australia.
