Angel

Written By: Jon Mattox

angel

didn’t you see her
the girl with the Mona Lisa smile
in all of her pictures
and the movies

well, I’m thinking about you now
in all of that white
I hope you’re still smiling
on the other side

‘cause you did nothing wrong
nothing wrong
angel

what were you thinking baby?
in that summer of 1969
when you we’re still alive

just over town
lived another girl
burning bright
she was flying high

until she made that jump
into history
well, I hope your heart is warm
and peaceful

‘cause you did nothing wrong
nothing wrong
angel

what were you thinking baby?
in that summer of 1969
When you we’re still alive

you did nothing wrong
nothing wrong.

What You Wanted

Written By: Jon Mattox Sebastian Sheehan

what you wanted

the night arrived
dissolved the sun away
you said you need a change
you turned and walked away

the girl with green blue eyes
came as no surprise
and gave to you
a love
a whole new passion

it’s what you wanted
what you wanted
what you wanted

when you acted on that spark
you tore your love apart
she said
I’ll meet you in New York

now you’re not so sure
a little insecure
tell me now
tonight
do you feel happy?

is this what you wanted?
what you wanted?
what you wanted?

everything has changed
everything is changing
go on, go on, ahead

it’s what you wanted
what you wanted
what you wanted

Susan Lies

Written By: Jon Mattox

susan lies

city skies are falling
and sink into her eyes
night times are turning
twisting up our lives
everyone keeps asking
what happened to that girl?
why was she going away?

susan likes what you’re saying
susan says what you’re thinking
susan thinks what you tell her is true
susan feels when you’re crying
susan cries when you’re lying
susan lies if you ask her
does anybody see her anymore?

someone said they saw her
running down the street
her eyes were on fire
stars beneath her feet
maybe she was too tired
to stay another day
why was she running away?

susan likes what you’re saying
susan says what you’re thinking
susan thinks what you tell her is true
susan feels when you’re crying
susan cries when you’re lying
susan lies if you ask her
does anybody see her anymore?
anymore... anymore… anymore

finally we found her
at a café indiscreet
with women at her shoulder
men upon her feet
we tried to convince her
to make her go our way
they just pushed us away

susan likes what you’re saying
susan says what you’re thinking
susan thinks what you tell her is true
susan feels when you’re crying
susan cries when you’re lying
susan lies if you ask her
does anybody see her anymore?
anymore… anymore… anymore…
