LAUNNIE GINN
Been
playing since the '60s, started with surf guitar, English invasion and rock 'n
roll, then into blues, country, jazz/rock, creative-jamming music (think
Grateful Dead). Played a Gibson ES175 all these years. Played and toured with
the "GEEKS" and "Live Band" for many years, also played
with "Tink", all California
jam bands. Lived in Hawaii
in the '80s, played with Zac Helm and "Mixed Plate". I have been
playing in worship bands since about '89 in churches in Hawaii
and California.
I am now the bass player for House Of Prayer, the hottest modern gospel band
you could ever hear. I also play bass for other Gospel groups in my area (San Luis Obispo, CA). I have been writing songs since my early
guitar days, continually developing my craft. I was the principal writer for
original material in the Geeks and Live Band. I now write mostly Country/Americana and
Christian music. I write some worship music but mostly songs about God and how
He helps me with life and the challenges out there. All positive and uplifting! I've won two Honorable Mentions in Billboard's World Song Contest, New Times Songwriter of the Year (2011) and recently was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest. Hopefully I'll
continue to find success with my songwriting. I'm BMI affiliated. I am currently playing my original songs solo at various events in my area.
