Laura Martin can throw a tomahawk for sport. She’s also pretty good with a longbow and arrow. These are skills she took away from her upbringing in rural northwestern Nebraska where her father runs an improbably combined business, MarBow Music and Archery.
Martin plays guitar and sings, more skills she picked up from her father, a choir teacher and multi-instrumentalist and her mother, a beautiful singer. In fact, her older brother and sister are talented musicians, as well. Had you been present at any folk festivals in the Nebraska/Wyoming/Colorado tri-state region in the late seventies, there’s a good chance you could have caught a performance by the Martin Family Band fronted by a very young Laura Martin.

But that was then. Now Martin lives in Los Angeles, California. In addition to acting, singing and dancing in several theatrical endeavors, she’s been writing her own songs and singing her own truths in countless bars and venues from the US to the UK. Martin’s music has been featured in motion picture and television soundtracks, and in 2007, she co-founded iHeart, a nonprofit organization designed to empower artists and raise money for charitable programs and organizations (

Martin has spent more than 15 years searching for and cultivating her own sound in various recording projects, and she has finally found it with her EP, Songs for the Fall, released in October, 2010.

The 7-song EP, described by Martin as, “A post-apocalyptic reverie of a tragically hopeful woman on the edge of destruction,” was recorded at Radio Hill Recorders in Los Angeles. Producing credits go to Dan Garcia of Radio Hill (whose credits include works with Christina Aquilera, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Travis, Whitney Houston, Toto, Boz Scaggs, David Crosby, Johnny Mathis and Kenny Loggins).
