"Blow Your Horn Blue Fish"

Brisbane-based freelance French hornist is about to embark on her third show with Blue Fish Theatrical since its premiere in 2010.

Laura-Nicole is no stranger to Brisbane’s theatre culture, performing in companies including Harvest Rain Theatrical, Ignatians and Savoyards. Playing for Julie Whiting in her productions has been the first time she has been challenged as a musician.

“This definitely feels like home and everyone is just part of a large extended family,” Laura-Nicole said. “Monty Python’s Spamalot was a big wake-up call for a lot of Brisbane’s theatre companies and made them realise there really is a lot of talent they are over-seeing in their musicians.”

Laura-Nicole, 24, studied at the Queensland Conservatorium and has worked in some of Queensland’s best orchestras, but musicals are definitely her passion.

“I’m really looking forward to Guys and Dolls and seeing what I can learn from this style of show I haven’t experienced yet.”

Guys and Dolls opens at the Schonell Theatre July 2011 and concludes August 6th. Tickets are available through Ticketek.
