Laura Power

Laura Power was born and raised in Lindsay, ON Canada, Now residing in Fergus/ Sudbury, and is the oldest of 9 siblings. Laura started receiving vocal training at the age of 9. By 13, Laura began creating her own destiny in the Music and Entertainment Industry, by performing in local community events, jamborees and nursing homes. Since then her budding career has been pushed to new heights in the country music scene.

Laura caught the eye of EMI Nashville’s Producer Charlie Craig who also produced her first EP in 2007, and went on to complete a full album in 2009. Bringing in professional musicians, her session included players from Lee Anne Womack’s band, Billy Ray Cyrus’ band and George Jones’s background vocalist.

With a strong sense of Laura’s professionalism at such a young age, Charlie approached and arranged
showcasing with three Major Labels -A&R teams. Laura travelled to Music Row, Nashville TN on August 29th 2007 and met with Warner Bros, Curb Records and Sony RCA.

Writing her own music, both lyrics & melodies, she proves to have an incredible talent. Laura is an emotional song writer. Her first musical piece is titled “ Something More” and was placed on her debut album, it is currently receiving airplay on KICX 91.7 Sudbury’s Major Country Radio Station.

There was a much larger audience ready to discover the poise and charm of her remarkable performances, she graced the stage at Palmer Rapids Country Jamboree in summer,08 as an opening act for the award winning country star, Michelle Wright!

Fearless, determined & setting her goals high, Laura travelled to Nashville TN , to appear at many well known venues during the CMA Fest week. While at the Nashville Convention Centre, Laura introduced herself to management and vocal trainer :Angela Bacari, who then, took it upon herself to introduce Laura to her upmost influential Country artist, Billy Gilman. Taking Laura’s CD to have a listen, Laura thought she may never get the chance to see either of them again. Much to her surprise the very next day, while walking in the same area, Angela Bacari approached Laura with the chance of a lifetime. Angela wanted to work with Laura out of Rhode Island ,New York.

On May 1st 2009 , Laura headlined her very own concert at the Academy Theatre, in her hometown, Lindsay ,ON. She performed with South Mountain, a world renowned band that just finished their European Tour. She donated some proceeds to Five Counties Children’s Centre. Laura always wants to give back to her community. This was a very special night for Laura, since it was the release date for her highly anticipated Debut Album.

These past few years have been very exciting for Laura! She has met many people throughout her career to date including: Michelle Wright, Billy Gilman, Martina McBride, The Road Hammers, and Taylor swift!! Laura has been given so much guidance and is grateful for the undying love and support of her family, friends and her amazing fast growing fan base. Laura Power is an approachable, energetic, assertive young woman, eager to pursue and grab a spotlight in the future of Country Music!!!
