Biography

Laura Raia is a quadruple threat- singer, dancer, songwriter, and actress. Laura has been drawn to the stage since the age of three where she began dance lessons in small town Rumson, New Jersey. By the age of six she was performing around the country in competitions and conventions. By the age of seven, she was attending singing, dancing, and acting classes six days a week and “loving every minute of it.” By eleven, Laura organized her own band where she discovered a passion for songwriting.
The local response to Laura’s talent was enormous. Her teachers and supporters encouraged Laura to commute to New York City where she was received prestigious training for her flourishing talent. For three consecutive years, Laura spent summers in NYC performing in numerous Off-Broadway shows and received scholarships to dance conventions and workshops around the country.
At the end of Laura’s eighth grade year, it became obvious that she should devote herself to full-time studies in NYC. The possible move was in important step towards her long-time dream of becoming a professional performer. Because of her hard work and remarkable dedication, Laura’s parents agreed to allow her to apply to The Professional Children’s School. After a successful acceptance into this school, Laura left everything behind and moved to the City with her older sister. She threw herself into singing and dancing classes and was introduced to vocal coach Gordon Grody (Alicia Keys, Alexa Ray Joel, Rolling Stones, many more).
Under the guidance of Gordon Grody, Laura decided to record her first demo. The demo, produced by Gordon Grody, included four songs- three songs she co-wrote with Grody and one Diana Ross remake. The demo process opened doors to many in the industry including producers Keith Brown and Matt Noble of New York Under Keith, Matt, and Gordon, Laura co-wrote and recorded many songs for her second demo. Currently she has teamed up with Jay Levine at Lefthook Entertainment to further produce her current songs and record new ones for her upcoming EP.
