Laura Vane & The Vipertones

Drawn together from both sides of the North Sea, Laura Vane & The Vipertones are an eight-piece band assembled from various Dutch & UK projects, pooling their respective skills together for a remarkable funk & soul mission. Since their debut release early 2009 the group has continued to electrify fans, deejays, radio stations, critics, record collectors and bloggers all over the world with their authentic yet modern and raw sound.

Since their successful first 7” release ‘Steam' and first single ‘Am I Dreaming?' sent ripples through the European funk & soul community in early 2009, Laura Vane & The Vipertones debut album exploded with a big bang on the scene! Add to that the success of the ‘Roof Off Remixes EP’ and the 'Remixes & B-sides EP', they continue playing intimate half-lit hot-spots in the hearts of many cities, as well as entertaining crowds of thousands at festivals!

Support for Laura Vane & The Vipertones came hard and fast from all angles. From online bloggers and music forums worldwide, Dutch Radio 6 and well respected 3FM deejays like Giel Beelen and Gerard Ekdom, to BBC Radio deejays such as Jonathan Ross, Mark Lamarr and Craig Charles in the UK. Also the band have appeared on hugely successful and well loved television shows like DWDD and have been covered in a whole range of publications from personal blogposts all the way to feature stories in Algemeen Dagblad, Fret, OOR and many others.

With continued support across the globe on radio and television, and with their incredible live show, Laura and the band are gathering an unstoppable momentum playing gigs such as iJazz, Moods, The Unique Soul Weekender, WOMAD festival Las Palmas, Blue Balls Festival, Tour The France, North Sea Round Town, Big Rivers, Athens Half Note Jazzclub, Tempo Club and many more.

On April 15th 2011, Laura Vane & The Vipertones will hit the streets with their second album 'Sugar Fix' produced by Phil Martin, Ton van der Kolk & Laura Vane. This record is a feast for the listener, laying down a rich variety of styles and inspirations, and is a vibrant progression from the first album. Laura's voice and songwriting has never been stronger. Such personal lyrics combined with The Vipertones’ instrumental elegance results in a record loaded with strong and catchy songs.
