Bio

Described as having a voice that satisfies a listener’s craving for “melted butter” one can’t help but cozy up to the unmistakable voice of Lauren Carson. Pulling on influences from Mary Chapin Carpenter and the melodies of Ray LeMontagne she creates a warm, folk pop sound.

No stranger to the rigor of music, she emerged onto music stages across Ontario at the tender age of seven, and recorded her first full-length album at twelve. Utilizing popular Bluegrass and Roots festivals as a musical training ground, she has developed a sound that is all her own.

In 2016 Lauren earned an entrance scholarship from Queen’s University, which left her torn between two passions; music and education.  A thriving Physics student in 2018, she entered and won a local talent contest where her relationship with her music was rekindled. She recorded her debut single “Monday Morning Coffee” a song about a comfortable, but tasteless relationship. The song spurred two other originals and the inspiration for her upcoming collection of songs which describe the implications of settling for mediocrity. You can often find her nestled in one of many Kingston coffee shops, working on new music.

This year, she opened for the pop folk group Long Range Hustle and is currently promoting her coming music in her hometown of Kingston. She hopes this music will welcome both old friends and newfound listeners.

Armed with education, undeniable talent, passion, and determination, Lauren Carson has all the ingredients to successfully plant herself in the folk industry.
