Bio

Kellie Lane Hatley Sides and Kacie Lauren Hatley were born and bred out of small town Stanfield, North Carolina. Raised as fifth generation bluegrass musicians, the Hatley sisters are no strangers to the stage. At the age of 3, both Kellie and Kacie were quite literally thrown into the arena by singing with The Hatley Family Band, a bluegrass gospel arrangement, performing for crowds of over a thousand people. Sharing the stage with other siblings and cousins, the girls learned to harmonize at an early age.

Not long after entering elementary school, Kellie picked up the banjo as Kacie pursued fiddle. With the accompaniment of four fellow musicians, the band Nashville Bound was formed. At their height, this group of young musicians performed at the Gibson Showcase, The Station Inn, and opened for John McCain at his North Carolina presidential rally in 2008. After years of success, shows, CD distribution, and travel, the group disbanded to focus on pursuing educational goals.

“Lauren and Lane came to us as an answer to a question: what next?” quotes Kacie Lauren. After many impromptu jams between the sister duo during Kacie’s residency at Wingate University, the girls found the answer to their question. “The sound we create is not something we can achieve individually. Our harmonies and ideas complement each other to form something neither of us thought possible," states Kellie Lane. The band debuted in July of 2014 in Oakboro, NC and have sparked the interest of fans via social media. Since the duo was founded, the girls have played a large number of North Carolina venues with influential musicians such as Jim Avett, father of the Avett Brothers.
