Lauren Nikohl, born Lauren Nicole Tomhave, was raised in Shoreview, Minnesota. The young artist began singing at the age of three, acting in theatre productions and playing guitar at age 5, songwriting at the age of 10, playing piano at age 12, and modeling at age 16. Her father, Douglas Tomhave, is a singer/songwriter himself and was a large influence on Lauren's musical prowess and determination.
Although Lauren denotes herself as a singer/songwriter, her music portrays a unique mix of soul, pop, and indie. She cites her musical influences to include artists such as Lana Del Rey, Beyonce, Paloma Faith, and Sam Smith.
Lauren began performing in school choirs and vocal groups, then moved on to performing at countless talent shows and events. Just in 2014 she began to play solo shows at clubs.
Lauren Nikohl recently released her debut EP, THE NIGHT, which was released June 2015. She also just made the big move to Los Angeles in August where she is attending the University of Southern California, and continues to pursue modeling, acting, and her music.
