Bio

Born on the South-West Atlantic coast of France, she started her musical journey at age six and for ten years she was trained in classical piano, voice and choir. Laure’s love for travel and languages came from her French father and her Italian mother. Being immersed in both the French and Italian cultures has enabled her to fluently express herself in both languages.
At 20, she settled in Montreal, Canada, continuing her musical journey in the province of Quebec.
In Montreal she joined various bands which enabled her to gain some strong stage experience. In 1998 she decided to pursue a solo career and began composing her own songs. With the financial support from the Canada Council For The Arts and the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec, Laure composed her own repertoire and gave her first series of performances as a singer songwriter in clubs, festivals and cultural centres. For her debue relase “L’Altr’Alba”, she composed songs in Italian, English and French. Her music is a powerful meditative journey that fuses Flamenco rhythms, Celtic melodies and African percussion, creating its own special multi-ethnic sound and "métissage". Accompanied by a group of outstanding musicians, she recorded and co-produced “L’Altr’Alba” with Canadian producer Erik West-Millette who is known in Canada for his productions with Marie-Jo Thério; Bïa; Richard Séguin, Gilles Vigneault. Laure was awarded grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the "Fondation du Maire de Montréal" to produce this project.
In June 2010 she moved back to France - her home country- and performed in Italy at the "Festival degli Autori di Sanremo" where she won the 2nd prize in the International Artist category with her song "Shadow". Laure is now promoting her album and musical career in France and Europe and recently performed in Paris and in Le Mans in March 2011.
