Bio

Hailing from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; Laurie started playing guitar at the age of sixteen. Listening to such influences as Rush and April wine, Laurie developed into a budding young guitarist with vocal capabilities. Playing with various cover bands, he soon caught the bug for playing in front of an audience.
Laurie moved to Toronto to pursue his passion for performing music. After some time on the music scene in and around the G.T.A. Laurie moved back to Nova Scotia. Living back in Halifax, Laurie has honed his songwriting craft nicely, acquiring a taste for the more subtle sounds of the acoustic guitar. Influenced by the MTV unplugged series, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and other acoustic oriented stylists, Laurie has produced an e.p. consisting of six songs called “Ninety to a Dozen”. From the first track, "Seeds we sow", a statement on the shape of the planet and how we got here, to the catchy track "Maybe it's just you", to the fifth track, "Undermined", a love song, this c.d. flows nicely. It will certainly keep you yearning for more... especially with the more you listen!
His second e.p., which is self titled, released in the spring of 2010 has Laurie working to support his latest effort. This c.d. consists of seven original tracks with a great groove which is guaranteed to keep you moving.
