"Interview: Laurie Wright"

Bio

I started writing at 15 in 2007 and haven't stopped. I've been busking at least 3 times a week since consistently, sometimes every day if my voice will hold. I was on BBC Radio One on Steve Lemaq's Myscene for Gloucestershire in February 2008 being interviewed and having a tune played, and I played at Glastonbury Festival on the Theatre and Circus Green Room Bar stage that year. I supported James Yuill at the Cheltenham Playhouse in september that year too and headlined the Gloucester Guildhall twice. I had an interview for BBC radio Gloucestershire in 2009 which is still available here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/gloucestershire/content/articles/2009/07/16/laurie_wright_interview_feature.shtml . In July 2009 I got to the final of the Road to Underage Festival competition, performing to a panel of judges at Factory studios Bristol. I opened the main stage on the Sunday of Barn on the Farm festival 2011 in Gloucester, sharing the bill with Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran Gabrielle Aplin and Dog Is Dead. In November 2011 i had an interview and played a song live on Ujima radio, as well as headlining Bristol venue The Fleece (formerly Fleece and Firkin) that month.
