After many demos and backing other artists, she recorded her first EP called The Summit House that was broadcast on PBS with mandolin, guitar, upright bass and Latin Percussion.
She is a featured percussionist and vocalist on the Fast Folk
Smithsonian collection and countless other independent releases while living in Boston, MA.
She has recorded and performed in Key West since the 1990's at Blue Heaven, The Pier House, and The Grand Key
Resort. She co-produced a collection of original live tracks with Brian Bender, at the 1794 Meeting House in Shutesbury, MA that are currently posted on Reverbnation.
Her celebrated release "South Station Slide" has been recently reissued as "I AM YOUR LOVER" in October 2013 a the Malibu Music Festival and Awards in California after being recognized and winning the Best Female Pop Artist of the Year 2013.
She is currently working on releasing her newest CD which promises much success.

LA WOOD, WINNER BEST FEMALE POP ARTIST 2013 MALIBU MUSIC AWARDS, has been playing instruments since she was in second grade. She took her guitar to school everyday and taught her classmates how to play and sing and it quickly became the backbone of her life. On vacation, she rode the trains to Florida on many occasions and wrote instrumentals on the long ride. One of those songs transformed from Southern Slide to South Station Slide when she performed it for the 100th anniversary of the Red Line in Boston, MA on open 12 string. It is still one of her most popular performed songs. She began her professional career at age 19 at Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs and studied music at both Skidmore College, UMASS Amherst and The Guitar Center in NYC, along with private instruction.
LA Wood loves to perform. She is an instant audience grabber with her natural charisma and showmanship. She has been honored to perform with Ritchie Havens, Shannon of " Let the Music Play" and was chosen to be on Indiegrrl Records, voted into GuitarGirls.com CD compilation in Los Angeles , CA. She has been performing in Key West, Florida to hundreds of tourists at Blue Heaven, the Pier House and the Grand Key Resort.
She has performed all over the northeast and in Paris, France during the World Cup! And now, Malibu, California.
We are looking forward to her finishing two CD projects and continuing to please her loyal fans. We are very excited to see where LA Wood' s music will find a new home!
