Lay Lo

From the legendary town of Roosevelt, Long Island hails a Hip-Hop lyrical impresario by the name of Lay Lo. Roosevelt of such legends as: Eddie Murphy, Julius Erving, Public Enemy, and even Howard Stern. Lay Lo has been a Hip- Hop journeyman for most his life. Deciding to take things in his own hands Lay Lo along with his partner Yo! Mane established D.E.A.D.S.E.R.I.US Entertainment. The labels name is an acronym that stands for: Dedicated Everyday to Advancing and Diversifing Sounds Expressing Reflections Inside Us.He is known for his conceptual and cinematic mixtapes. His first mixtape "Trading Papers" was a concept inspired by Eddie Murphy's classic movie "Trading Places." On this mixtape he sampled excerts of the movie and used them as skits that totally coinsides with the songs and the songs concepts. By doing shows at such popular clubs as: Club Babolus ( Inasyrkal Music Group) and Club Speed (Lightsout Ent.) the buzz from this mixtape was phenominal resulting in thousands sold. Lay Lo's follow up mixtape "Lean on Lay" gave the listeners another cinematic twist. This project was inspired by Morgan Freemans classic movie "Lean on me." This series of musical-cinematic master pieces innovated the mixtape circuit and quickly earned him respect. While recording the "Cinematic master piece series," he had the privilegde to work with seasoned producers like J- Waxx Garfield ( "It's so hard" by Big Pun, Pree (" High all the time" by 50 Cent) etc.
To broaden his market base D.E.A.D. S.E.R.I.US released the clothing line Serius Threads. With the anticipated release of "The Burnem Edition" his going to re gain his crown in the underground. Look out for the album "The Jewel of the Isle" coming soon.
