"Lazee "The Way You Move""

Lazee released his One Way Ticket mixtape at the end of December, and the Led Zeppelin-sampling "The Way You Move" is the first track to get a visual treatment. The up-and-comer recently battled Game in Stockholm, where he held his own with a rapid-fire delivery, winning respect from Game and the crowd. Lazee is moving up, too. He'll make an appearance at this year's SXSW festival, where he'll be an official performer.

Bio

Four time Grammy nominated Lazee from Sweden is about to take the world by storm. He is unique as an artist. With an international class, attitude and widely genre sound makes Lazee different from most urban international artist. Lazee\’s musical style is a mesh of synthpop, electronica, dubstep, R&B, hiphop & dirty drum beats. Tracks are sung and rapped, yrics contain themes of love, heartbreak & introspection. His talent & gentlemanly style have cemented his reputation as a Swedish bastion of sophistication & flair.

Mawuli Kulego, aka Lazee, is a hard working young man who’s been brought up in the knowledge that nothing comes for free. He was born in 1985 in Scandinavia’s southernmost providence, Malmo/Sweden, where he was brought up with his mother and two sisters. sIn 1998, his mother however decided that Malmö didn’t provide the right environment for her son. She therefore sent Lazee to London where he could “become something”. Six years later, Lazee moves back to Sweden with the ambition of finishing his first Hip-Hop album. His first Mixtape “It Is What It Is” was hosted by the no 1 Urban Dj KaySlay (NY) and was a huge success. This was also the start of a new collaboration with super producer Ishi. Both of them started working on a new and fresh sound. The sound that they came up with is best described as a hybrid of Hip-Hop, House, Grime and Drum&Bass — with a dash of R&B. And all this topped with Lazee’s lyrical rhymes constantly delivered with high energy. It was this new sound that got Sony BMG’s (Scandinavia) attention with “Rock Away”, which was the first single on his first released album “Setting Standards”.Lazee had a flying start. “Rock Away” came out of nowhere and rushed in on the charts without being officially released. It came no 2 on iTunes, Smash Hit of the Week on NRJ, Voice Choice on The Voice and Fresh on MTV with over 120 spins a week, Swedish House mafia remixed the record as well as Fred Durst flying LAZEE to LA to jump on the remix. At this point it also became very evident that Lazee is not only a Hip-Hop artist — he’s an entertainer. He had the confidence, the attitude and above all, the talent to take him all the way to the top. His unique way of combining Rock and Hip-Hop took this somewhat traditional music genre to a new higher level. Lazee has had the privilege of being a supporting act for world known artists such as Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, Wyclef Jean, Rick Ross and Musiq Souldchild, 50 Cent, The Game, Swedish House Mafia, Robin, Ace Of Base. His hit single “Calling Out” was no 1 on iTunes for several weeks and made him an ambassadour for a well reputed Swedish charity organisation that works for children’s rights in society. “Calling Out” is now the signature song of the organisation.Lazee’s international hit single “Hold on” came no 14 on top 100 at TV Air play in the UK and is currently on high rotation. “Hold on” was also released in the USA in March, and the same success as in the UK is well expected. On Sept 24th 2010 Lazee was nominated as best new artist at the MTV European Awards as well as best break out artist on MTV U. Lazee just finished his second studio album “Supposed To Happen” which was just released in October 2011 on his own label Timeless MusicUniversal Scandenavia with the lead single “Gotta Go” and “Stronger feat Dead By April which is also featured in the video game “Need For Speed, Hot Pursuit” . Suppose to happen includes artists such as Eric Turner, Adam Tensta, Danny, Madcon and Mohombi. Jan 2012 Lazee released his breakout mixtape “One Way Ticket” which is takening off in the US with the lead single “The Way You Move” produced by super producer Tye Fyfe which samples Led Zeplin. The album features Marsha Ambrosius on a song titled “Go Girl” as well as “All That She Wants” which samples the monster smash from his fellow peers back home Ace of Base.LAZEE’s currently on working on his 3rd studio album and currently on tour. LAZEE is represented by New York based entertainment company SWAP Management. For more information please log on to www.lazeeonline.com or www.swapmgmt.com
