Bio

Lazerbitch is a explosion of the visceral and ephermeral—the synthetic and organic. They are a band that takes viral beats and hooks and combines them with strong vocal melodies, delivering a product that harks back to the iconic sounds of the 80’s. With a performance that features live vocals and instruments, dancing and crowd interaction, Lazerbitch has begun making waves and winning over audiences. Their strong and growing catalogue has generated an expanding international fan base. Lazerbitch is poised to sweep the world with their unique sound.

Vocalist, Libby Picken, not only adds a healthy dose of sex appeal but also delivers an impressive history of projects with some of electronic music’s top producers. Best known for her vocals on John B’s “Electrofreak,” which was on Paul Oakenfold’s, “The Great Wall,” Picken has been featured on releases from some of the industry’s best producers, like Donald Glaude and T-1000. She has a vocal style that focuses on strong hooks and melodies. Since joining Lazerbitch, she has begun to explore darker vocal textures and themes as well honing her solid pop chops, providing the group with a strong vocal backbone. She is the lovely face and voice of Lazerbitch.

Mad Max, aka Maxwell Houston, founded Lazerbitch. He plays the bass guitar and key-tar during live show as well as composing the songs and producing the band in the studio. Houston first released electronic music on Black Pearl Records in 2000. After Tech Itch and Kraken remixed his early drum ‘n’ bass productions, he received press in Mixer, Urb, XLR8R, and Knowledge. This attention led to his being billed at some of the largest and best electronic music events in the USA, including Coolworld’s 50,000+ Cyberfest, the seminal SF weekly, Eklektic, a residency at the 15,000+ Quest quarterly massive and an appearance on DJ Dara’s legendary internet TV show, Velocity. Houston went on to release tunes on Honeybeat Recordings in Bristol, UK before forming Lazerbitch.
