"Rock Talk 11.10.07"

sometimes rocky, sometimes soulful, but always danceable and groovin' - D.C. Thomson

"Blues in Britain Vol 1 Issue 71"

the excellent guitar work draws the careful listener in rather than beating him or her about the head....mature, well-crafted blues ..well worth tracking down - Abacabe Publishing

"Orkney Blues festival 16 - 18 September 2005"

..playing their unique blend of funky, boogie, jump blues, interspersed with classics...major strengths are their song-writing, harmonies and solid, infectious rhythm......this high-octane performance was not lost on the audience who danced and raved the night away - Blues Matters

"Dundee Blues Bonanza 2004"

..tore through a thrilling set drawn largely fromtheir debut CD...they mix Chicago blues with a dose of rock and turn out a potent mixture. They went down the proverbial storm and the impression I got was of a band about to get busier.... - Blues Matters

"Positively Blue"

This Scottish based three-piece deliver some original soulful rhythmic blues music, with the occasional dose of funk thrown in for good measure, which simply oozes class... I believe this band are as exciting today as Fleetwood Mac were when they released their "Mr. Wonderful" album back in 1968. - Blues Matters!

Lazy Poker came together in 2003, in time to play the Dundee Blues Bonanza, Europe's largest free blues music festival. Our first album, The Real Deal, was released 2004 and we were excited to find radio airplay happening in Europe, USA and Australia. A deal for Blues Matters to distribute this album led to an agreement to record for their label.
In 2005 we stepped into festival headline mode at The Orkney Blues Festival for the Friday night as the scheduled headliners had disintegrated in Glasgow en-route to the show!
2007 saw us play both the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival and the British stage at The Great British R&B Festival, Colne.
Our first Blues Matters album was released in August 2007 and has been a top 10 blues album download success on iTunes.
