"LEAGUE OF SHADOWS- Shining a Light In On The Face of Classic Rock"

LEAGUE OF SHADOWS- Shining a Light on the Face of Classic Rock
By Stacey Evans
Ê
Hollywood, CA. February 3, 2009- Chicago, IL. basedÊrock band League of Shadows is thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of their album "Resurrection" April 12, 2009 on Easter Sunday. The release of "Resurrection" on Easter Sunday when Christians celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead is no coincidence. To this band, music is no less than a righteous, living and Êbreathing entity. They've placed rock and roll high on a pedestal where they gaze at it with no less than divine reverence. With the release of "Resurrection," League of Shadows is a force of nature bent onÊshining a new lightÊclassic rock.

Raised to play their respective instruments from toddler-hood, brothers Nick and Marko Akrap were inspired to form League of Shadows after experiencing an epiphany in which their mission in music became clear; to shine a new light on classic rock by drawing on it's various sounds throughout the decades and fusing those sounds with their own take on rock and roll in 2009. The brothers were joined by Eddie Gerber on lead guitar, Rico Harmon on bass, and Ant Capers on drums.ÊThe group's chemistry is electric and spiritual. Judging by the four tracks posted on the bands official website at www.leagueofshadows.net they have more than accomplished that mission with Resurrection by leaving traces of iconic influences from Pink Floyd to Def Leppard laced throughout the songs while maintaining a strong hold on their own originality.

League of Shadows is currently focused on preparing for the April 12, 2009 release of Resurrection and planning for a free July 7th outdoor performance at Club Mirage in Schiller park Illinois to raise money for the deadly childhood disease, Lymphoma Cancer. Bio

Brothers Nick and Marko Akrap started, "League of Shadows" toward the end of '05, the reason which can hardly be described as anything but pure existential intervention from God himself. They went from a vague notion to a clear understanding of what the purpose of their music was: resurrect classic rock n' roll and create a new type of music that pays tribute to the era of the 70's, 80's, and 90's.

About Nick

How long have you been playing? - I started playing piano when I was 4 years old. I went through a couple of different music teachers. I got bored of playing classical music so I picked up an Aerosmith and Guns n' Roses music book and started playing rock. When I was a sophomore in high school I decided to pick up the guitar on my own, and have been playing and writing music ever since. Being self taught on the guitar opened up my eyes to improvisation. I loved jamming with some buddies and thats what kept me going. Once I started writing music I started taking it seriously and started a band with my brother Marko.

About Marko

How long have you been playing? - I started playing piano at six because my dad gave me a choice to play either piano or guitar (not playing anything was not an option) and I chose piano because even back then, I pictured myself hooking girls with a sweet tune on the piano. From there I moved on to learn some things about keyboards, but nothing sounds better than some classical music on a baby grand.
