My influences cover a wide range of artists that I believe to have mastered the story telling aspect of music. They also encompass those who have given the gift of compassion, truth, and beauty through their songs. Aimee Mann, Johnny Cash, Over the Rhine, The Innocence Mission, Coldplay, Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, and The Arcade Fire , just to name a few. My musical journey and passion for singing started after joining the gospel choir at my church. My songwriting began when I started a band, Pablo's Dove, with my friend Abby who I met while working as an intern for a youth missions organization. My missions experiences in Kenya, Venezuela, and the Philippines provided the inspiration for some of our songs. When the pursuit of higher education brought us (Pablo's Dove) to Tulsa, we recorded a CD and got to play at some great venues here in town. The band broke up after graduation (not a huge surprise), and it took me two years to regain the desire to do music again. I decided to teach myself guitar and start booking my own shows. Shortly after, I got married and moved into a full time job and a new state(Florida). While the beach provided lots of inspiration, the job sucked it all out of me. We recently moved back to Tulsa, and I have begun playing out regularly and just finished my first solo studio project.
