Leah Kolvatz

My name is Leah Kolvatz and I'm an 16 years old aspiring musician living in the suburbs of a small town on the coast of Massachusetts. Music has been my passion from the moment I could first speak. I've grown up being surrounded by a musical family and I was always singing and writing songs ever since I was really little-I've always known what I wanted to do with my life. My dad taught me how to play the guitar when I was 9, and since then, music has been my passion. My biggest influences are The Beatles, Nirvana, and Pink Floyd. I am defiantly a classic rock kind of person but I like all kinds of music.

What makes me different from other artists is that I strive to be different and not all my stuff sounds exactly the same like most artists you hear today. I don't just care about the fame-I care about making music that is GOOD. Music that people can listen to and be inspired from, and relate to.

I generally like to write soft rock/acoustic/folk...all that good stuff and little bit of pop-rock. I've always been shy about my music, but last year i stepped up my game and participated in contest for my school that, similar to american idol. I was the only one who performed an original song and I got second place as a freshman.

Every song I have recorded was done at my home by my dad.
