Leah Lou is relatively new to the Cleveland music scene. She was recently signed to Reverse Image Unlimited and is working on an album that should be released in early 2010.

You perform all over Cleveland. Where is your favorite spot to perform?
I don't know. I really like the Grog Shop. I only played there once, back in March, but their stage is so cool and you feel like you are on a real stage. That was my favorite show I played. I played there with the Promise Hero and a couple other bands from Texas. It was really fun.

You were recently signed to the record label, Reverse Image Unlimited; Can fans expect a CD out soon?
I think it's going to be 2010, but we are working on a song right now to give fans a little taste.

You and Adam Heart are performing at many of the same events this summer. Have you ever thought about collaborating on a song?
I would love to. We have talked about covering a Velvet Underground song. That would be really cool. Maybe on the upcoming album.

What is your favorite thing about Cleveland?
I moved to Dayton for awhile and I guess I never really appreciated it. Now I come back to it and all this is happening and I am like "wow, this place is awesome!" It was kinda like one of those things where you don’t realize what you have until you are missing it. I just love it. It's my home.

What is your favorite bar or restaurant to visit while in town?
Dave's Cosmic Subs.

Bio

Leah who? Leah Lou! Meet the drop out, night owl, lyrical love child of Cleveland, Ohio. She thinks like a philosopher and sings like an angel, apologizes to colleges and cleans apartments occasionally. Think about a big juicy acoustic-Cat Power-Kimya Dawson- Regina Spektor sandwich with a side of Suzanne Vega and you're thinking of Leah Lou. She likes wearing dresses, thinking about stuff and writing songs about the stuff she thinks about such as the universe, ex-boyfriends, never-boyfriends, conversations and sleep deprivation. She taught herself how to play guitar because she had nothing else to do and shortly after fell madly in love with the sound that her two hands and six strings were creating. She combined her obsession with music, her kind of rhyming style of writing, her dislike of mean people and bad situations, and her pretty yet quirky voice, then shook it up a little bit and put it on the internet. Miss Lou will sing for you any day of the week and if you really listen to her lyrics you'll probably get to know her better than if she was just talking to you. "Singing about stuff is way more fun than just talking about it..." she says. She has trouble understanding the earth and its purpose, but thoroughly enjoys living on it, even though she knows it's hurting and most likely ending in 2012. Attention Deficit Disorder has caused some trouble for Leah, like solving math problems, sitting still, and misplacing her car keys on regular basis, but miraculously has not affected her ability to put on a show and remember the lyrics and chords to her songs. Sometimes she gets a little strange and avoids using sharpie markers in tricky situations involving bedroom walls, but that's all part of the show. She can't dance and hates the snow, drives too fast and runs too slow. She'll make you laugh and make you know that no one is ever really alone. And everyone has a story to tell but hopefully hers will make you feel like lots of people feel the same way. So why not make a few bad days sound great?
