Who is Leaving Cash?

Leaving Cash formed in early May of 2005. Based out of Coatesville, PA, the name is a direct reference to the high school's acronym: "CASH," or Coatesville Area Senior High.

The versatile four-piece, known for switching instruments throughout the show, was originally made up of Brian Fitzgerald, Brenna Fitzgerald, Matt Lobach, and Andrew McLean. The quartet recorded their first full-length release "Give A Little Try" over the summer and winter of 2008, and released it independently on January 2, 2009. During the summer of 2009, Matt Lobach and Andrew McLean parted ways with Leaving Cash and Matt Radomile (guitar/vocals) and Jason Smith (bassist from the band Hippocampus) filled their places.

One of the most immediately recognizable and unique traits of the band is the integration of electric violinist Brian Fitzgerald. On this instrument, he performed in February 2008 with the Foo Fighters on national television at the 50th Grammy Awards and has also performed with Mark Wood – founding member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Additionally, he works independently throughout the Philadelphia area as a solo artist and as a session player for numerous acts.

Primarily active in the greater-Philadelphia area, Leaving Cash plays both original venues and the cover circuit of bars and clubs, with covers spanning several genres and decades of music. A testament to this variability, as a drummer for the Paul Green School of Rock's All Stars band, Brenna performed with John Wetton (King Crimson) and Skunk Baxter (Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers). Leaving Cash’s original material is across the board, ranging from alternative rock to funk and jazz-inspired compositions.

Leaving Cash’s recent attention and support from the Philadelphia media has been on NBC, performing on the 10! Show on two separate dates; on 93.3FM WMMR, performing live on the Preston & Steve show and receiving both radio play and praise from WMMR’s original music-focused DJ, Jaxon; and on 93.7FM WSTW’s “Hometown Heroes.” In 2010 they were named for Best Live Performance in 93.7FM WSTW’s Hometown Heroes Homey Awards. They have also performed live and been in rotation on the Pittsburgh area’s 105.9 JOE-FM.
