"Andréane en cadeau"

17 avril 2009

ANDRÉANNE BEAUPRÉ en cadeau
RITA DOLAN CARON a reçu tout un
cadeau pour son 75e anniversaire de
naissance, qui réunissait sa famille à
la salle du restaurant Le Thymbré, à
Nicolet. Elle a eu le bonheur de voir
son souper de fête rehaussé par un
spectacle de la chanteuse
ANDRÉANNE BEAUPRÉ et son
groupe Le Coconut Groove...

ANDRÉANNE a donné à la soirée une
ambiance formidable avec sa voix
chaude et enveloppante. Elle était
appuyée par deux excellents
musiciens, PAUL MILETTE,
guitariste, et CHARLES
ROBITAILLE, bassiste...

Ex-Trifluvienne, ANDRÉANNE est la
fille de la mezzo-soprano et
professeure de chant bien connue,
ODETTE BEAUPRÉ. Pour ceux qui
seraient curieux de l'entendre chanter,
quelques extraits de son vaste
répertoire sont disponibles sur
myspace.com/lecoconutgroove.

Bio

The Montreal based band Le Coconut Groove offers outstanding interpretations and arrangements of jazz standards. You'll be impressed by this one-of-a-kind sound that is influenced by Latin rhythms and R&B styles. Prepare to be bewitched by the feline warmth of the singer’s voice; the exhilarating guitar playing; the brightness of the sax; the driving bass lines and the ardent drum beats. No one can be indifferent to Le Coconut Groove’s music.

Vocals: Andréane is a new and upcoming jazz vocalist on the music scene in Montreal. The talented young urban jazz singer never goes unnoticed thanks to her irresistibly passionate and charismatic nature that colors amazingly her voice timbre. For her, the mission of a singer is to express pure emotions through his or her musicality, a task that she delightfully masters today. Andréane is certainly the flame that sets Le Coconut Groove ablaze and gives it its voluptuous and vivid personality.

Guitar & Arrangements: Paul Millette is the genius who thought and orchestrated Le Coconut Groove. With over twenty years of experience as a jazzman/bluesman, Paul Millette has been playing with the best artistes of the Montreal jazz scene. Among other things, he has been invited thrice to perform and teach in Santiago, Cuba, sharing his love of music with his fellow Cuban musicians. Rich of many wonderful experiences, Paul Millette earned himself an impeccable reputation towards his pairs as well as towards all kinds of music lovers all over the globe. His immeasurable talent expressed through his guitar playing and musical arrangements are pure pleasure to the ear, making him the heart and soul of Le Coconut Groove.

Saxophone: Andrew Schinasi is a Montreal born saxophonist who has performed across Canada, the United States and Europe. His interpretations are treated with a freshness, sensitivity and intensity which make for highly individualized and personalized group statements. Invited in 2006 by the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal to perform an indoor concert, he placed himself 2nd in the best new groups contest. His solos are constantly well constructed and of highest artistic expression, making him an invaluable addition to Le Coconut Groove.

Electric Bass: Six string master, Charles Robitaille lays down the foundation on which the musical expressiveness of Le Coconut Groove can solidly stand to reach its apex. Through his twenty years of playing in numerous top forty bands and Cruise ship orchestras where he was bass guitarist for great artistes such as Loretta Holloway and many others, Charles Robitaille has developed and perfected his art to the point of becoming, undoubtedly, one of the most proficient bass players in Montreal.

Drums: The one who puts the groove in the Coconut is certainly David Mastroberardi. Playing drums since the age of 14, when he was only 17, he began recording and touring with Montreal act Scrubmuffin who were finalists in the CHOM Esprit band competition. After years of honing his craft, the versatile drummer acquired his "chops" in Jazz, Latin and Alternative Rock styles. Light and tight would be the best way to describe the playing of this virtuosic drummer.
