Bio

Ledaswan has created a style all their own amidst their peers in the punk and metal scene that dominates most of San Antonio, Texas. Ledaswan's sound is going under extraordinary changes in their transformation from a near solo studio project to a full fledged band. The melodic dream-popish beginning has flourished from folky/alternative to an instantaneous energetic and emotionally rocking 4 piece. Erica Gutierrez’s voice draws similarities to The Sundays, Juliana Hatfield, and even Courtney Love. The music has been likened to the Cure, PJ Harvey and Mazzy star with a rush of adrenaline, when experienced live Ledaswan mixes their own ingredient of indie, rock, country, and pop while attaining lyrical depth often switching between 1st to 3rd person where sometimes starkly powerful soundscapes carry a soft ethereal voice, taking the listener on a joy-pain ride of pleasure in a rock/pop rooted fashion that's truly the sound of Ledaswan. Starting out as a guitar and viola driven duo, Erica and Naomi Vallejo composed songs and arranged vocal harmonies to perform in local coffee shops and songwriter open mic events. Ironically two years before the duo formed Erica gave a self-produced E.P. to Jaime Monzon who was the guitarist for a local melodic emo-core band Drughoney. The two unlikely collaborators accidentally began writing and recording songs three years after their random encounter. Immediately thereafter the threesome launched a website where they sold c.d’s of their acoustic sessions to fans from as far as the UK and France. In a natural sequence of life’s events came the addition of drummer Chris Philbrick who helps bring forth a phenomenal force and multi-instrumentalist Naomi switched to the bass guitar to add the finishing touches. They could finally share their music with a wider audience. Ledaswan’s very first gig was when the band was invited to play at the famous Emos in Austin Texas during Ladyfest 2004 and have had successful online marketing with tracks from their acoustic sessions c.d. on Garageband where Over Again was voted song of the day. Ledaswan plans on going in the studio to record their new found sound taking songs from the beginning acoustic sessions c.d. along with new material. Ledaswan formed in May 2004
