Bio
A healthy contrast from the metal and punk that dominate the San Antonio music scene, ledaswan creates an emo-core alt-country that fans liken to a female fronted Sparklehorse, Elliot Smith, a Mazzy Star with a rush of adrenaline while other songs attain a heavy emo-core-pop edge that can be likened to the Cure, Brand New and Mogwai. Starting out as a guitar and viola driven duo Erica and Naomi composed string and guitar driven tracks under the name “Sparrow.” Ironically two years before the duo formed Erica handed out a self-produced E.P. at a local music club in their hometown under her alter ego name “Leaves,” It was there that she handed a copy to Jaime Monzon who was the guitarist for a local melodic emo-core band, Drughoney. The two unlikely collaborators accidentally began writing and recording songs three years after the random encounter. A crucial pivot is evident with the addition of drummer Chris Philbrick who brings forth a dangerously powerful force to epic tracks like Take Me Down and Discover, the catchy and sweet; heart anguished Over Again, the melodic rock soul-tugging Learning to Breathe, and their lyrically indie pop sing-along Heart in Two all bound to awaken due unexplored territory.
