Biography

McPhaul is the founding frontman as vocalist and rhythm guitar. Live acoustic shows during the week is his full time job while he attends college classes to pursue a Major in vocal performance. "I'm passionate about music," McPhaul said," I really enjoy connecting with Lee County Line fans in a rare, personable way." Murdoch is the founding drummer. He is also pursuing a college Major in the music field. He writes many of the band's songs and excels at songwriting. Lucas Kaine is the newest member of Lee County Line. His deep understanding of musical theory brings about a whole new demension to the band. His animated performances and outgoing personality wows music lovers of all kinds. Taylor Yates joined Lee County Line as the bassist in 2009. His previous experience in the Dallas music scene brings a new depth to the band's sound. Yates is focusing on music in college as well. "Music is our life!" Yates said. We all live together, so that we can be in constant collaboration. Their little free time is spent out dancing or attending live performances by other bands, he added. "What an unexpected treat, my wife and I visited Coupland for the first time and got to listen to this outstanding and talented group. I am flabbergasted to learn they are still teens (or at least close to it) because their musicianship and abilities were very mature and polished. Guys? Your electric guitarist blew me away. Lead singer? Should be recording. I look forward to years from now saying I knew this group from the early days." -Keith (Georgetown, TX) Thanks, Lee County Line.

Lyrics

Her Lyin Eyes

Written By: Joshua Murdoch

Young Martha Williams lived down my old dirt road
I went and saw her when I could
But I don’t love her, no I could never
She just aint worth what you get

That summer love gone wrong
All day long

When I see her I swear I’m seeing heaven
Right until I look into her eyes
The devils hiding behind her lovely grin
What a beautiful surprise
In those lying eyes

When we all see her walking down the street
She’s always in her favorite boots and jeans
Everyone wants her but I could never
She just aint what she seems

That summer love gone wrong
All day long

When I see her I swear I’m seeing heaven
Right until I look into her eyes
The devils hiding behind her lovely grin
What a beautiful surprise
In those lying eyes

The Way Things Change

Written By: Joshua Murdoch

I’m driving out of town again for the last time
Just can’t seem to find my way in the world
I’m passing through lights put on the interstate
Wishing I was back on the country roads

I got a pack of beer in the seat beside me
Those small town ways still got a hold on me
But those flashing lights are on in the rear view
Looks like the cops got another hold on me

• The way things change I don’t understand
I’m misunderstood and that’s a fact
But I don’t care about that anymore
Cause I know now what I didn’t know then
I’m getting wiser with each new sin
And I don’t cry or look down to the floor
Yeah I’m a small town kid, and nothing more

You can tell who I am from a mile away
When I’m out of the country world
And every little scar and scruff is a memory
Of a life that is still home to me

A Song About Me

Written By: Joshua Murdoch

How many times have you heard
The radio play your favorite verse
Of your favorite song you listen to everyday

The songs about falling in and out of love
And rain that falls from the sky above
And the country as far as the eye can see
But do I have a song about me

• Do I have religion
Do I trust myself
Can I find the comfort of being with somebody else
Or can I look around and find some songs and see
Yeah do I have a song about me

Well I’ve heard music all of my life
But nothing been written anytime
About a Texas boy who barely does no wrong

And I don’t smoke and I barely drink
My trucks doing fine or so I think
I’m just an ordinary guy and that’s all for me
But do I have a song about me

(Chorus)

Do I have a song, yeah do I have a song
Now I have a song about me

Take My Hand

Written By: Joshua Murdoch

When I saw you I swear a light shined
Yeah you took my breath away
You were everything I had come to like

You were looking right at me
So I won’t deny what you need

So I said
• Take my hand and follow me this way
I’m taking you out on the floor
Take a chance on love baby like I’m doing
And I promise you’ll be wanting more
Every single dance is like a second first chance
When you’re with somebody new
So take a chance with me let us make a memory
Before this night is through
Before the night is through

When we finished our dance
She wouldn’t let me go
So I pulled her in real close
And gave her a kiss right on that floor

She was looking right at me
She said I’ve been waiting for that lead

Then she said
• Take my hand and follow me this way
I’m taking you on back home
Take a chance on love baby like I’m doing
And I won’t leave you there alone
Every single dance is like a second first chance
When you’re with somebody new
So take a chance with me let us make a memory
Before this night is through
Before the night is through

Well we waited till the sun came up
Before we said our goodbyes
And I can’t wait till I see her again
Maybe she’ll be there tonight

Misery

Written By: Joshua Murdoch

Well me and my girl were the perfect pair
We were nearly inseparable
Everything we did, we did together
And I thought our love was full

But right one day I looked around
And she wasn’t there
An old pickup truck was parked outside
As if I couldn’t care

• Well Misery’s my second name
Lonely is my first
And every time I think about it
It only makes it worse
So every time I hear my name
Ill always think of her every time, every time I will

Well she took my heart and broke it
On that cool midsummer night
And the fight that we had thereafter
Killed me deep inside

And after that I still could not
Throw my heart away
Cause love was the only thing I had
That always stayed the same

(Chorus)

Well I know someday I wanna
Find somebody new
But I know from the pain I feel right now
I just want to be with you
