"Review of "Introducing Lee Ferris""

"The talented singer-songwriter, Lee Ferris, recalls the easygoing crooning over deft guitar accompaniment long displayed by the masters of his craft. The Santa Monica resident's chief asset is his unique voice, which has a broad range. Expressive tracks such as 'Swimming Pool of Sin' and 'Low Down Dirty Dreams' highlight his gifts." Staff Writer(One Way Magazine April/May 2007) - One Way Magazine

Bio

Lee Ferris is a jazz soloist in the most lyrical sense both with his guitar playing and his staggeringly huge yet sensitive tenor voice. Ferris and his band spontaneously create every set they play. Audiences at The Jazz Bakery, McCabe's Guitar Shop, Ghengis Cohen, and countless Los Angeles venues over the past five years have been consistently awed by Ferris and his band as they create their singular improvised artistic experiences on stage. Ranging from folk to be bop to r&b to funk and swing, admission to a Lee Ferris concert is automatic enrollment into a masterclass of sophistication and versatility.
Through his experience playing Berger this past Fall in Michael Butler's 40th Anniversary Production of "HAiR" Ferris possesses a theatricality and gigantic stage presence rarely found in local or national singer songwriter acts.
With the 2007 release of "Introducing Lee Ferris" he sends the message to his listeners that intelligent, subtle songwriting, impeccable musicanship, and tasteful production(handled deftly by Christian Nesmith)are the antidotes to the overwrought, overproduced products of the popular music machine.
