Bio

Leena Ingegneri was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. She has been performing since age three. In high school, she was one of only twenty-five sopranos chosen to participate in the Southern Arizona Regional Music Festival for two consecutive years. Leena, a long-time pianist, moved to Los Angeles several years ago to pursue a career in songwriting.

Leena was surrounded by music throughout her childhood. She vividly recalls watching home videos of herself and her father dancing around the house to Lionel Richie songs. She adds, “I remember many times when I would go into the living room, put on my Wilson Phillips tape and just sing and dance along. I’ll never forget the first time I realized I wanted to be a performer. I was at my grandparent’s house watching MTV, and Sheryl Crow’s ‘All I Wanna Do’ was playing. I was in awe. I wanted so bad to grow up and be Sheryl.” Leena continues to play locally around the Los Angeles area. As her fan base grows, she hopes to expand on her travels and perform all over the country. She credits artists such as Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan and Vanessa Carlton as her major influences.

Leena continues to seek opportunities in the music field. The 23 year-old performed at the National Society of Collegiate Scholars’ 2002 induction ceremony and had the song she performed captured in a music video by the California State University, Northridge CTVA department. After her performance for a non-profit group called “Songs and Flight”, where she performed with her band, she was invited to perform at a Cal State Northridge event entitled “Bougapalooza 2”, where she performed all original music. Recently, she served as music supervisor for a documentary project again using all original music. Leena was also part of a recent A&R showcase for X2 Productions. For the past three years, Leena has shared her passion for music by offering piano lessons to children.

Leena is working hard to write music that conveys important and meaningful messages to people all around the world. She has recently earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Industry Studies from California State University, Northridge, where she studied voice. She has also recently finished recording a four song EP which was produced by Rudy Haeusermann.
