FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A night ablaze inspires Lee Nestor's Midnight Wednesday

Singer-songwriters fourth album arrives October 5th prefaced by Roller Coaster

Los Angeles, CA: Having lost everything except the T-shirt on her back, a pair of faded jeans, the bunny slippers on her feet and her three dogs that she bravely rescued after a spontaneous fire burned her house to the ground, singer-songwriter Lee Nestor turned to what she had left: her music. While one might expect that she would pen songs of loss, anger, and bitterness, Nestor emerged from the midst of the burning embers clarified and inspired to write a thirteen-song collection about love and relationships that uplift, offer hope and are just plain fun. Her fourth album and debut for the Moonwatcher Music label, Midnight Wednesday, will be released October 5th. Previewing the release, Roller Coaster, a thrill ride about the exhilarating highs, bottomless lows, and unpredictable twists and turns of romance, will be serviced to radio in September.

Although based in Los Angeles, Nestor recorded the initial tracks for Midnight Wednesday in New York where she felt creative comfortably ensconced in her co-producer Keith Lentin's Manhattan studio. The pair shared production duties with Mark Newman in addition to a few songs that were produced by Joseph L. Briggs and Prasanna Bishop. Grammy winner Steve Churchyard (The Pretenders, INXS) remixed three songs: Midnight Wednesday, Sometimes and The Flame. Working with only twenty-four tracks promulgated simplicity and put the emphasis on writing well-crafted songs. On edgier rock tracks like Rose Garden, Change and If I Care, Nestor's voice takes on a sense of urgency laced with passion and desire while fiery electric guitar riffs add grit and intensity. The majority of the disc is filled with acoustic adult rock songs boasting sticky pop melodies and graceful vocals brimful of heart, emotion and vulnerability. The title track, first single, Sometimes, Lemonade, Where I Want You and You Are My It are amongst the numerous infectious standouts that bode to firmly establish Nestor as one of the preeminent female singer-songwriters on today's adult rock-pop beat.

Midnight Wednesday was conceived from a songwriting perspective. This album is about discovering what really matters, that love is always with us?the simplicity of it all and timelessness. Writing and playing music is just that: simple, timeless and lasting. I strive to be completely in the moment when writing and playing. Through my songs, I hope to contribute love, joy, positive energy and harmony to the world, said Nestor.

Nestor, who has gigged extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally as a headliner and an opener for the Goo Goo Dolls, Darden Smith, Tommy James and Big & Rich amongst others, plans to support Midnight Wednesday with club dates in New York City and Los Angeles scheduled around the album release date. The photogenic beauty was captured wearing an array of fashion icon Oleg Cassini's designs in the July issue of Long Island's The Boulevard Magazine and will appear in a second spread again modeling Cassini in the glossy magazine's September issue.

Born in Geneva, Switzerland and raised in Manhattan, Nestor headed to the left coast where she works on a variety of television and award-winning film projects simultaneous to her recording career. After making her debut with the rootsy rocker Stronger Than This, Grammy nominated guitarist Joe Taylor tapped Nestor as a lead vocalist for the Celtic crossover group Oracle's Pool of Dreams album. Nestor's second album, Call It What It Is, was led by Still With Me, a song about the unexpected passing of a dear friend, Peter Gould, who directed one of her music videos. The captivating cut charted on the Adult Contemporary and Hot AC playlists and earned acclaim as a spirited homage of hope while Nestor was praised for her honest, straightforward vocal delivery. Nestor's adept skills as a writer have been recognized by the Billboard International and John Lennon Songwriting competitions. Changing directions musically, her third offering, Luminous, explored ambient pop grooves and was recorded in New York and London, the latter locale being where she collaborated with Hugh Padgham (Sting/Trisha Yearwood). An engaging live performer, Nestor premiered music from that collection at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. After hearing early samples of Midnight Wednesday posted online, Taylor recruited Nestor to sign with his Moonwatcher Music imprint. Additional information is available at www.leenestor.com.

Bio

Lee Nestor is one of today's most thought provoking singer/songwriters. She is a memorable performer and is "quite simply a beautiful singer," as quoted in Next Flash magazine.

"Nestor is a hallmark of the return of rock based female singers, she can range from beautiful ballads to straight ahead rock. There is nothing pretentious about her music." FMQB Rock

An award winning singer/songwriter (John Lennon/Billboard), Lee has written and recorded 4 CD's, the latest is MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY, released this fall by Moonwatcher Music. This CD is a power packed collection of Pop/Rock alternatives and heartfelt acoustic rock ballads. Lee co-produced with Mark Newman (Sam Moore) and Keith Lentin (Blondie Chaplin/Keith Richards), with remixes by Grammy winner Steve Churchyard (Pretenders, INXS, Maroon 5, Seal), mastering by Anthony Focx (Aerosmith), with Grammy nominated soloist/writer/producer Joe Taylor (Moonwatcher Music) as executive producer.

Lee tours nationally, performing at clubs, theaters and festivals like The Roxy LA, Hotel Cafe LA, The Knitting Factory NYC, The Mercury Lounge NYC, The Fox Theater Boulder CO, SunFest FLA etc.. She can be heard on the radio and retail stores, headlining and opening up for such notable artist as The GooGoo Dolls, Sister Seven, William Toppley, Sally Taylor, Tommy James, Darden Smith, DoveTail Joint, The Mother Hips, "Big & Rich" and others.

Lee's first CD, STRONGER THAN THIS (Move) is a rootsy Rock-n-Roll album. Ranging in mood from the self-empowerment declaration of Better You Than Me (featured in the new Kevin Costner film) to the loss and longing of first love described in the acoustic rock ballad Newport.

"Nestor presents a straight forward and immensely likable persona through her performance and her lyrics" - The Music Paper. This kind of style prompted Hit Parade Hall of Fame rocker Tommy James to dub Lee "an uptown Bonnie Raitt".

After the release of "Stronger Than This", Lee was invited by, Joe Taylor to be a lead vocalist on his Celtic crossover project Oracle (RCA/Victor), entitled POOL OF DREAMS. This led to Lee's second CD CALL IT WHAT IT IS, (PolyGram/Universal) a Pop/Rock CD that emphasized, "a direct lyrical approach and honest delivery," - John Schoenberger of Totally Adult magazine. One of the songs Lee wrote, "Still With Me" was inspired by the unexpected death of her friend Peter Gould, (who had directed one of her music video's "Imagination.") This song of homage, "Still With Me", became Lee's first single quickly charting at AC/HotAC radio, climbing to number 23, tying for second place at the Gavin Jukebox Jury with Curtis Stigers and Blessed Union of Souls, earning praise as "captivating and bittersweet, "Still With Me" has the potential to become a format standard," -Annette Lai of Gavin Magazine.

Lee created her third CD under the name LUMINOUS, a self titled ambient groove/pop project produced by co-writer Joseph Briggs. It took a year in the making, with recording in London and New York City. Lee had the pleasure to work with Hugh Padgham (Sting, Trisha Yearwood) on this project and got the opportunity to debut the live show at the world class Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA.

Then one tragic night, Lee's house burned down to the ground. With nothing left but a tee shirt, a pair of bunny slippers and her three dogs, Lee turned to the one place she'd always found solace... music. "I'd lost all my sequins, feathers and paint," says Lee, "what I found was the real me - raw, honest and unwavering." From this place of release, MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY was born.

When Joe Taylor (Moonwatcher Music) happened upon a few samples of Lee's new music on line he was blown away and immediately contacted her to join his select roster of artists. And the rest will be history!

Moonwatcher Music released Lee's new CD, "MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY" in October 2009. Lee's sound prompts comparisons to artists like Sheryl Crow, KT Tundstall The Pretenders and Joan Osborne.
In a nutshell Lee is "a pop rock goddess." -E-Scene/The Wave
