By having cross genre influences, LEEROY is a band pushing boundaries. With an understanding of traditional song writing, LEEROY defies the listener's initial expectations by turning accessible rock songs into rave ups.
Influences range from Madchester bands and Creation Records artists like the Stone Roses to other recent UK acts such as Basement Jaxx and Kasabien.
LEEROY has a contemporary sound that is similar to Dandy Warhols, Garbage, The Killers, Veruca Salt, then maybe some Lucious Jackson, PRIMAL SCREAM, AND/OR GOLDFRAPP...

WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER BANDS?

LEEROY's songs wield all of the universal themes that we love so much into an entangled sense of urgency which hasn't been heard since Janis.

Our many fans come and yell "LEEEROYYYY!!!!" They know the story told below...

WHY LEEROY?
The story behind Leeroy requires a little gossip about
Jessica's Baptist preacher family. Her parents forbid anyone in the house to listen to music unless it was gospel (and not the good kind) or classical.

Five years ago, her parents adopted a 43 year old man with special needs, named LEEROY. While
her family provides food, shelter, and employment
opportunities for LEEROY, they forbid him to listen
to music.

When Jess went home, LEEROY always complained because he wasn't allowed to listen to any music that he liked. Eventually, they took away all of his CD's. ("for his own good...cause it's the devil's music...") He was clearly upset because they would only let him listen to gospel or classical and LEEROY doesn't ROLL like that.

So she made LEEROY a promise to make him music,
and bring it to him cause TURNS OUT, LEEROY LOVES
MUSIC!!!!!

LEEROY is a tribute to one of music's biggest fans.

LEEROY is a victim of the bastardization of religon
and rock music.

WHERE IS LEEROY? (the band...)
LEEROY changed singers and drummers last year, and
LEEROY is working feverishly to finish an extended demo, set for distribution by the end of May. We're putting together summer shows and a fall tour...

LEEROY
has played more than a dozen shows in the last year and we
