“L.F.R. hits where everyone else misses….I’m digging the way they flow on it...This is my new Sh**!”

- DJ Rasta Root, Smokin Needles Records and Riddim Kids, Inc.

“Oh so nice…A musical slice mixing a classic R&B flow with a groovy hip-hop attack that sonicly rocks your mind.”

- Kenny Burrell Jr., Jazz artist, Nerve Records, Blue Note Records

“The perfect music I want to hear while ordering a martini at my favorite NYC lounge”

- Rene John Sandy, Spitkickers, Inc, Omega Artist Management

“When I threw this song on, it reminded me of why I fell in love with hip hop. A throwback to the days of Tribe Called Quest, or more recently Little Brother, the beat instantly catches you with its jazzy melodies and sets the vibe for the talented lyricists from L.F.R. that bless the mic on the track. And with the lovely singing on the chorus, girls can sing along to it and feel good about themselves and guys can rhyme to the positive lyrics about romance. As a DJ, I could play this at a party with Black Star or De La Soul and it would fit in perfectly with either. If this is a sign of the potential that L.F.R. has, then hip hop heads need to add them to their list of artists to check for.”

Left Field Rhythms is a laid back union of melodic hip-hop and authentic soul. This three member mosaic features lyrical front men: C- Boogie, Justice and Ever Wonder. The group’s emcees derive their influences from the golden age of hip hop including A Tribe Called Quest, KRS One and Big Daddy Kane.

Cboogie formed the group after he decided to put his own project on hold. L.F.R., all based in Bridgeport, the largest city in Connecticut known to many as “the Park City”. Like other urban centers in Connecticut, Bridgeport fared less well during the deindustrialization of the United States in the 1970s and 1980s. Unemployment rose, crime soared, and the city became known for a large drug problem and for having an exploding AIDS rate. Many former-industrial sites within the city were discovered to be heavily-polluted, leaving the city with extensive environmental costs and damage. Other sites were simply abandoned and left to burn down, leaving some areas of the city resembling ghost towns.

And it’s that specific atmosphere where Left Field Rhythms creativity is driving from. In 2008 the group has been earnestly working on their debut album Left Field Rhythms - Define By:. L.F.R. has been steadfastly concentrating of reaching every different situation that may arise in someone’s lifetime. The title of the album encompasses what the group is really made of. “Everyone is different, but we bring it together whether in the studio or on stage or even just hanging out, it’s so many things we’re defined by...” states Ever Wonder. The album itself seems to appeal to the single parent, the living check by check individual, the starving artist, the family man, any real and everyday life of millions of people on this planet. It also tackles the views of wanting to be an artist in very hard, ever changing music industry.

“Our whole goal was to come together and be real with people who’ve might have been through the same struggles we have” states Justice. Songs like TGIF paints a picture of life trials that may engulf single parents daily. The old cliché of spending quality time with that special someone is lamented through out the lyrics of Chocolate Soul Kisses vividly, as Welcome To Our World tackles the focus on staying together as a breakthrough group.

With the album almost completed, L.F.R. has been busy building up their fan base & performing, opening for legendary acts like Mary J Blige, Jaguar Wright, John Legend and Lady Bug Mecca to name a few.

“Our goal is to let the world vibe to creative and innovative sounds and rhythms that move the souls of music lovers worldwide.” - L.F.R.
