Bio
Hailing from the Triangle of North Carolina, Left On Cates fuses the eclectic tastes of their members into a unique genre through close-quarter-song-writing and the motivation of their own self-approval. Their fast-paced power rock combines lighting speed jazz-metal progressions with melodic swirls and heavy breakdowns. The infectious vocal melodies and hard-hitting lyrics are complimented by well-placed harmonies and howls, as a driving percussive force of bass and drums lays the foundation.
Working as a rock-writing duo since August of 2000, lead guitarist Mike ODonnell and bassist/vocalist Paul Kelley collaborated with various bands in and around Charlotte's indie rock scene for three years, frequenting the stage at Tremont Music Hall and opening for such national acts as Rise Against.
In 2003 searching for a new sound, they formed experimental side project The Xiphoid Process, the foundation for which would later become the modern rock band, Left On Cates.
Delivering a heart felt and equally heart stopping performance at every show, Left On Cates continues to arrest audiences across the Carolinas from Rock Hill to Raleigh, bringing their own brand of raucous rock to the stage. Look for Left On Cates, coming soon to a venue or hole-in-the-wall near you!
