Lefty Alexander's material intertwines the integrity of folk music, the festiveness of rock 'n' roll, and the somber sensibilities of the blues to create a sound that is uniquely invigorating yet strangely familiar. Currently existing somewhere just outside of Austin, TX, USA, he hopes to continue his growth as a young artist the old-fashioned way, by naturally evolving as a songwriter and honing his live performances by playing whenever/wherever the opportunities arise.
Inspired by a larger-than-oneself ethos that is subtly imparted from each generation of storytellers to the next, Lefty’s songs often reflect the solace accessible from what cannot be easily defined or understood. Many of the themes presented in his work waver in the void between what is and what shall never be, meshing personal experience with a broader perspective for results that are both heartfelt and relatable. In the end, he comes along as just one more participant in an endless chain of creation, a diligent witness in the marriage of words and melody.
It's an ever delicate process of fusing talent and ambition, but as Alexander gets more and more comfortable balancing the two, the inevitability of his success becomes increasingly conceivable. Keep a close eye on this budding troubadour, there's sure to be plenty to look forward to from Lefty Alexander in the near future and beyond.
