"Legacy CD Review"

The sound of Lubbock, TX-based Contemporary Christian all-male a cappella quartet has been compared to groups like Take 6, Acappella and Rockapella. Particularly fine among these 10 songs are three written by group member and producer Josh Wheeler, "Preach the Word," "Make a Difference" and the inspirational "I Will Praise Your Name" and group member Jake Lierman's "How Can I." Other favorites are the upbeat "Livin' on the Edge," "Who is Here" and "Without Love;" the moving "Beautiful Lamb," "Beautiful Like This" and "Now to Him," with music by Keith Lancaster. Every cut of "Legacy" is strong, sung with power and feeling by this talented, committed quartet. One of the best we have heard this year! - Primarily Acappella

"The Boys of Summer"

On the road touring almost all summer were the five talented men of Legacy --- Josh Wheeler, Nick Gauntley, Ross Rodgers, John Paul Sheppard, and Jake Lierman.

Driving to Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico and all over the Lone Star State, Legacy promoted LCU and more importantly spread the word this summer. They had the opportunity to visit 35-40 towns performing almost every night. It was a whirlwind tour to say the least.

When asked about this summers entire expedition Ross Rodgers said, "It is something I have always wanted to do-- to go and sing praise with a bunch of guys that are as close to me as a brother can get".

Missed hearing them in your hometown? Good news! Legacy will be making their way to chapel in the near future.

"Just Who Is Legacy"

In the fall of 2002, while most of the current Lubbock Christian University student population was enjoying rectangle slices of pizza in the high school cafeteria, a group of men embarked upon a journey that would eventually lead them to be known as Legacy. Originally the group consisted of the five male singers from Best Friends, who spent the summer of 2003 traveling and spreading the gospel through song. After recording a CD together, busy schedules and different opportunities forced the group to put their ministry on hold.

In the fall of 2006, after three years apart, God brought the men back together in Lubbock, and they knew it was for a reason. In the summer of 2006 the men began performing at different concerts and also began to work on a new CD, which has now been completed, is available online at www.legacymusiconline.com, and will also be made available in the LCU bookstore in the near future.

While most of the LCU population was not around for the Legacy summer in 2003, most will recognize the men who make up the group.

Singing tenor is Clint Dickerson from Abilene. While at LCU, Clint majored in Criminal Justice, and participated in Praise Choir, Chamber Singers, Master Follies, and many of the musical productions.

Walking the line between tenor and baritone is Jake Lierman. During Jake's tenure at LCU he majored in Education and participated in Best Friends, Praise Choir, and Master Follies. Many of you may have met Jakes little brother Zack, who is a currently a student at LCU.

Belting the baritone is John Paul Sheppard. While attending LCU, John Paul found the love of his life, Delisha, majored in Music, and participated in Praise Choir, Chamber Singers, Best Friends, and Master Follies. You may know Jessica Sheppard, John Paul's little sister who, following in his footsteps, is a current member of Best Friends.

And, booming the bass is Josh Wheeler. Josh is currently a student at LCU and in his time here he has met the love of his life, his wife Mandy, is majoring in education, and has participated in Best Friends.

"Legacy feels very humbled and very blessed that God has brought (us) all back together to do ministry again," said Wheeler. "It is amazing to see how God has worked in each of (our) lives over the past three years, and how He has been preparing (us) for this ministry He has called (us) to do."

Bio

Legacy is a nationally known Christian vocal group that is based out of Lubbock, TX. Their sound
has been compared to many world renowned groups such as Take 6, Acappella, Gaither Vocal Band and Rockapella. The group consists of Marty Baker, Michael Thompson, Clint Dickerson, Josh Wheeler and Jake Lierman.

Legacy originally got their start in the fall of 2002 while in college together, but the group only lasted for about a year. After a summer tour in 2003 and recording a CD together, the guys felt that God was calling them to do other things with their lives and they decided to put the group on hold for a
while.

Over the next three year God took the guys in Legacy many different places all over the country.
Some of them graduated and got married, some moved off to pursue other music ministry opportunities, but one thing remained constant with all of them; they remembered what a powerful
ministry Legacy had been and they all longed to do acappella music ministry together again.

In 2006, God did some amazing things in the lives of the guys to bring them all back together again in
Lubbock, TX. After singing together, discussing the possibility of ministry together again, and praying about starting the ministry back up, Legacy believed that God was calling them back into the
ministry. So in the summer of 2006 the guys began to do concerts again and began work on their first independent CD.

Legacy feels very humbled and very blessed that God has brought them all back together to do
ministry again. It is amazing to see how God has worked in each of these young men’s lives over the
past three years, and how He has been preparing them for this ministry He has called them to do.
