Bio
Legal Lies formed in February of 2006 as a result of a jam session set up between Nate Martel (vocals and guitar), Brendan Slowey (percussion) and Tom Schack (bass). From the first improvised jams the trio produced, they knew something great was happening. All members were UMass Amherst students and the majority of their jamming was done in the heart of the off campus scene on Main Street Amherst, Mass. After only one week of jamming together the group was playing their first house party of three hundred plus crazy college kids. Everyone loved their sound and they have been a big part of the pioneer valley scene ever since.
Legal Lies does not tailor their sound to fit into any particular genre of music nor would they ever try to play music just because they think it will be popular. This is not to say that their sound isn’t sometimes catchy or radio friendly because it is. From rock to jazz, folk to metal, Legal Lies is influenced by all types of music and they show this in their sound. Everything they do comes directly from the heart, soul, and mind with no filter straight to the audience. Legal Lies want as many people to share their music with them, so listen up and come for the ride.
