"Ska Fest hits big with last minutes lineup"

Excerpt -

Up and coming Seattle band Legal Lies took the stage with ferocity, and although they were the youngest band on the bill, the band was talented beyond their years. Legal Lies played 45 minutes of what can only be described as hardcore reggae, easily compared to acts like 311. One of the more interesting features of this band was the integration of hip-hop into their music with emcee Waldamar rapping during breakdowns, as well as DJ Ezus on turntables. - The Spectator - www.su-spectator.com

Bio

Coming from the heart of the Pacific Northwest (Seattle), Legal Lies is an amalgamation of styles and genre of music. Ranging from rock to funk, reggae to hip hop. To label the music with just one sound would not do it justice. There is no "typical" show for Legal Lies, we have shared the stage with hip hop groups such as the Blue Scholars to ska bands like Fishbone. Legal Lies has gone through some line up changes over the last year. The original set up included a DJ, but we lost him when he moved away. We also at one point had a hand percussionist, but he also left to pursue so other musical endeavors. Legal Lies recorded and mixed our first album ourselves and released it for free download at our website www.legalliesband.com in January of 2009. Since then Legal Lies has been hard at work on our second album. With this album Legal Lies is taking a different approach to song writing. The first album we were all learning how to work together, and with the second we know how each member works and now we can experiment more. As for the future of Legal Lies expect us to delve deeper into our musical roots in order to create new sounds that proclaim positivity in struggle.
